Same! Masterpiece for regular characters, 3rd party legends class for combiners and other larger characters. It’s the perfect balance IMO.

Remember when NA quickly teased a Menasor to keep some market share? Pepperidge Farmitron does.

Given what they charged for their Devastator, I think I'm good with Pangu's downsize of Gabriel. It's hard to beat that design, unless they've made the tank much smaller so that it isn't so ridiculously large. That was something I really appreciated about MFT's take on him.

 

I totally forgot about DX9's Gabriel, in that context, Michael makes a lot more sense for the angel connection.

I’m not sure market saturation will have much of an effect, IMHO. NA have built up enough goodwill and clout amongst fans that people would still buy from them.

Like, if MMC were to announce a Devastator or if FansToys were to bring out a new Sideswipe - you know people would buy them because of brand loyalty, if nothing else.

 

Hope they show this off before Pangu releases their figure, if this is indeed another Omega Supreme. I simply want the best representation of the character and don’t care if it costs more.

 

What if NA even designed their Omega way before Pangu-Toys announced theirs?
We can only tell if NA have official photos in the next few weeks but people often forget that from the designing stage to production often takes a year or even more, while PT-02 was just announced a few months ago.
Imagine someone stole one of your old designs, sold them at a cheaper price. And you got an upgraded version in hands with better quality, would you stop selling it just because your new version is now more expensive, not even giving it a try?

I even think the PT-02 is a good thing in this time, because NA have to beat a very cheap yet good version (if the quality is right). NA must have a more competitive price (friend version) or much better design & quality.

 

Rather than bitter, I'll say the NA designer is feeling dislain, cos he thinks he has a better design in the works.

It may be true from his POV, but not necessarily ours.

The traitor reference is from the episode called “ City of Glass” or something like that where Omega was friends with the Constructicons and then Megatron created a machine to turn them evil. They then proceeded to smash the glass city Omega Supreme as supposed to protect. He got pissed after that and Devastator was his sworn enemy from then on. The old G1 episodes are all streaming for free on the Tubi app (with commercials, but the quality is great). That’s enough nerdery for today.  

 

I’ll bet slightly taller than Devastator. Just a hunch.

i seriously doubt anyone stole the designs. dx9 owns the ones for the mini omega and they probably just sold them off since they aren't interested in that part of the biz anymore. or this is something they might get a cut off at the end of the day.

before dx9 had the huge company crippling issues with Gabriel and Motormaster. they had planned on doing the smaller version and a few other surprises.

this is clearly their original smaller design files. the way the NA guy speaks about indicates to me that he kind of doesn't appreciate that this is coming out now. also i would also think that it is safe to assume that the original designer would have some updated ideas for his older work like omega. i mean he does that for the rest of his line. so it is all par for the course.

either way even though it hasn't been released yet. i feel like it will be extremely hard to beat the PT omega in the market.

especially since we know it will have sounds and lights for considerably way less than the NA offering.

market saturation does exist and even though this site is a bubble. not everyone out there runs out and gobbles up each and every new thing that NA drops.

 

Yeah… This is what threw me off in the beginning because they already used the name “Michael” for SG SS.  

But this is clearly a new number H53. All of the clues point to Omega Supreme. Excited!  

 

You know, I got Planet X’s Omega Supreme Tuesday, how crazy is it that this is now revealed. NA is gonna make me regret my purchase.  

The best part about Newage doing an Omega Supreme is that we will get all the repaints of it.
