Set there seems better. The DNA I see little I'd actually want outside of the helmet piece or the hand. Otherwise I'd prefer we got other items to fix the head for the dragon neck or things like the Beast Machines armor or covenant of primus.

there's not one specific thing in this set that really grabs my attention, but everything in it (except the wig) just augments a bit more to him to really make the set worth getting.

I already modded mine with a wrist swivel, which really helps with posing. With this new hand and the pointy finger, it'll look even better.

 

Strongly disagree. I've been holding out on that head because it looks so bad on the body to me. Like, it's okay-ish when seen by itself, if you disregard how off-model it is, but once inside the helmet of the actual toy it looks ridiculous to me.

The DNA head looks much better on the actual toy. I think a large part of that is the size of the eyes. Sure, they're larger than Megatron's usually are, proportional to the rest of his face, but that's why it looks better on a smaller head. It makes the head look less small when coupled with the rest of the figure. It cheats up the size of the face. Much preferable.

(that and it gets what makes Beast Megatron's face unique to him, aka the golf-tee-shaped nose and the actual shape of the mouth)

 

The face for the standalone looks better and colored properly for the body. The DNA faces don't look right and the cor matches the old head.

 

Looking at the auction, it looks grainy… is it some 3D printed thing that’s painted?

 

99% of them are. Usually resin printers, then hand-painted. (Some of the printers produce nearly production quality items.)
It'll be much better looking in hand, most likely. Still, when you can get everything in a kit with the difference of a few dollars...

 

I wish the new backpiece folded all the way up. 

 

Yeah, I'm like you and bit on multiple kits. I might bite on a Covenant of Primus, but not until after we see Nemesis. I'm still holding out hope that we will get an official one that way. However, if not, I'd dip a third time for the book and gavel, especially if they came with the sword.

I don't feel good about myself about it. Any of it.

But it's BW Megatron, so I'll find a way to live with myself.  

 

It would really look better if it folded up onto his back instead of down onto his butt.

 

DNA has a tendency to make shitty replacement hands. This one only has the index finger moving.

Would have killed for the arm shield, but still looking forward to this kit nonetheless.

 

Seeing the alternate faces for this Megatron, makes me hopeful that one day we will get a new headsculpt for Kingdom Rhinox one day (plus new machine guns)

 

Well, they pulled off a decent set this time. The only real fault is the wig would be nicer if it wasn\'t 2d. 

 

I didn't think TMII Megs necessarily needed any upgrades beyond maybe a wrist swivel/opening hand, but the extra tail segments, hand, and somewhat collapsible torso panel are all calling to me. Not fussed about the alternate faces because, and this may be considered blasphemy, even as an OG Beast Wars kid I... kinda like the stock one. Also the translucent orange headpiece looks better.

 

I wasn't sold on TM2 Megs at first, but this set does look interesting. A longer tail is always a plus for a dragon, the new chest looks pretty good, and the faces/forehead replacement aren't bad. The hand, however, is barely an upgrade, and the wig... exists? I may pick this set up when I get Megatron, if it isn't too pricey.
