legacy prime arcee wasnt a car either and they ruined everything about her IMO
she wasnt as curvy as bw blackarachnia, but wasnt a BRICK either, and yet we got what we got
thats why i still dont have any fait in these "redesigned" characters

 

Wonder who Prowl's mold repaint would be.

 

Animated prowl is a must have! The junkion not so much.

And it'll be cool to get an armada sideways out of prowl!

 

Prowl was somewhat expected but both of these are surprisingly good.

Oh nice! I dig them both! About time animated got some love. It\'s one of my very favorite transformers media 

 

It is ankle tilts, nicer head, better joints (especially the hips)

 

Why not... Kinda wish they waited for this mold for Road Rocket.

 

If I decide to sigh and just go for recollecting the '84 bots, I would need a Prowl. But his original character design is kind of bland, as is his ER toy. I like the color contrast of TFA Prowl and always have. For my aesthetics, I would have like a dynamic Prowl like this that also turned into a scale-appropriate car. But, well, you can't always get what you want.

I like KnockOut so much as a character, I'd want to pick up that Legacy one. The headsculpt is just… blärg … It's really the main thing they needed to fix. They could have used just about any deluxe car to get there. I'd throw out the Studio Series TLK Hot Rod as my suggestion. (I know they cannot contractually swap tooling from the movies and other IPs… I know, I know…) And I think there were much better candidates than the Jazz mold.

Part of why I think this looks so good is that I think they learned from the previous line. This headsculpt is perfect to me.

The Legacy Arcee is blockier than her TFP version but it's not a "BRICK." With how clunky trying to blend together the motorcycle elements with her rounded original self was, they simply went a more blocky route when translating the design. We actually see in the behind the scenes for Legacy Arcee that they initially were going for that but it apparently didn't work out, probably because it's still a vehicle we are talking about. Most of the more "curvy" designs lately have been just that when transitioned into toys. Your idea that they have something against it holds no water and it's very unlikely that they'd need to compromise with TFA Blackarachnia since they've already shown they're more than willing to draw from the original toy for TFA and that version of Blackarachnia was designed with the vampy look+transforming in mind, moreso than the BW design that they faithfully recreated.

there were many other ways they could have made her and not make her look like THAT, i dont care anymore, all legacy tf prime, killed all my hopes for anything "updated"

 

When I saw it on the thumbnail, I thought this Animated Prowl looked like a disaster. Now that I get a closer look though...

If I collected non-G1, he'd be a must-have. Excellent recreation of this design in the style of current Generations product!

Personally thought Prime Arcee translated better to "G1/Generations"-aesthetic than Bulkhead and Knockout. I like the latter two but I can see the complaint of "remove the head and you lose all recognizability", which I wouldn't really say applies to Arcee. Most of the distinctive elements from her Prime design are there.

 

Im quite impressed how Prowl looks especially as the first g1ified tfa character he retains the Wyatt look but without being too outlandish it doesnt fit the rest of the line im excited for Prime now.
