FT seems to be very aware of their missteps and I think they know not to bring up Berserk(or bandit) unless a release is coming.

Which is interesting when you look at the star Toys which seems extremely far into development and then you have something like MPH warthog which is a render of a head.

I'd love for the Star Toys to come out in spring or summer and for that to push FT into a release but I don't think it will affect things at all.

Isn't it a thing with FT that the military alt modes still end up looking like their real world counterparts, such as the case in their upcoming Powerglide figure?

I hope they stick with the more realistic altmode with Powerglide as the bulk of the S2 characters are the older hybrid style.

Thomas is what Thomas is, and leaned heavily into toon for the alt modes. So, I would prefer Blitzwing to do the same. Though wasn't FT offering some options in transformation to allow for 'Toon and more realistic alt modes? If so, that could save a bit of grief.

Yes, and I love that - please don't change FT, never change that.

realistic alt-modes should keep being a thing, specially Blitzwings jet mode, its gotta turn into a MIG25, not the weird toy interpretation.
FT Powerglide's current alt-mode design looks amazing as is

I didn't even know this thread was once closed. The ST-01 version will certainly light a fire under FT to get theirs done.

It was an option in the v1 but I think it got designed out of v2. The option was in jet mode, flying nacho or more Mig like. Who knows what we'll end up with...

FT is known for flipping the script. I remember when years ago they said that their Blaster was cancelled for good. Totally different story today. I lot of people decided to pass on FT Blaster, Mirage, because they are totally happy with their DS/TE versions. We already know TE/DS products are typically cheaper in price than FT. If this new 3P Blitzwing is a hit, which is highly likely given the fact that it is coming from a TE/DS designer, that means less people will buy the FT version. In response, I wouldn't be surprised if FT reveals some color test shots of their Blitzwing in Q1 or Q2 2023.

Or they just do what they said and by the time their blitzwing comes out the other one will feel old already and people still replace it

I was 43 years of age when this figure was announced. I won't even see it before my 50th birthday. I am 50 next March....

Going out on a limb here but I don't think we'll ever see it. The Masterpiece phenomena just isn't there any more. Third party legends scale seem to be all the rage nowadays and they are much cheaper.

When I started collecting in 2019, the sentiment going around at that time was "MP is on the way out, it's falling out of favor with collectors, people don't want Masterpiece anymore," etc. And granted that was pre-pandemic, but still. I hear this sentiment expressed every few weeks that MP isn't what it used to be, but prices, production, youtube content creators, and these threads really prove the opposite to be true, much to the sadness of my collector brain and pocket book.

Price of the figures is way, way higher if you put them in perspective of their size. I think 70-80 bucks for a figure that small is a lot.
Main fact that legends is hot ticket item right now is because people are collecting so much, that MP takes up way too much space.

For me, i like the MP size and its shelf presence, bought a few OSKO's because of it.
I mean, the legends look good in pictures, but every time i see in hand pictures and get reminded how small they are, I'm put off

I am a die hard fan, same as you. But the most desirable bots are all but done and dusted. It is a big ask to expect everybody who purchased say Maketoys Downbeat to then upgrade to a much more expensive Fans Toys Jive 5 years down the line.

I can afford to do it and have the will to do it. But does everybody else?

Well in all honesty, If I wanted to start a G1 homage collection today, I would not go down the Masterpiece route. Legends scale take up less space and are still a cheaper way of collecting your favorite G1 Transformers than Masterpice.
