Thank goodness for that. This show made me something I never did before, one episode before the finale I just quit. I realized they would never be able to resolve all this nonsense in a satisfying way, so I checked the wikipedia and decided I would not waste anymore of my time. So much awesomeness could have been done with self-aware robots not bound to bodies, instead we got cheap melodramatic nonsense. Oh they do that too? Not just Netflix? And people wonder why I burn everything to BluRays (or buying them if they are really good). Really hating this "you can only access whatever we want you to access" streaming subscription method where what you pay for is never really truly yours, only as long as the powers that be decide it stays online. They got the idea from Steam, no doubt. In this case, disappointingly bad things came to an end. Man, that explains a lot of things. Not how terribly inept human security and soldiers are, mind you, just a lot of other nonsense. Wait, THAT guy was involved with this show? I never knew, they probably hid it well. Because that explains sooooo much, and they must now know how many people like me will not touch his projects with a 10-foot-pool, fully expecting disappointment once he runs out of mystery boxes and would need to explain things.
Out with a whimper instead of a bang. Shame since the first season was brilliant, the second was decent enough. Things went off the rails for season three with my wife and I not really liking the whole silly Reoboham arc (we get what the writers were trying to with the story narratively but we just hated the narrative they went with and how hamfisted it was), and we haven't even checked out the final season yet, we're that unenthused about the show now.
The hope is that some other streaming service will pick up the Nevers and air the second half of season 1. It’s finished. It just needs a home. I also ended up enjoying it and would be super disappointed if the second half never got aired.
