Argentina leading the Netherlands 1-nil! Amazing assist by Messi! Yeah, the Croats have that gritty, never give-up attitude. I actually predicted the match going to penalties and from there it’s anyone’s game. However, IMO this Brazil blew it…leading in EXT and to then to concede an equaliser.
…and Argentina blew a 2-nil lead! What a match! *Argentina wins 4-3 on penalties! Quite an exciting match! I have no idea why the Dutch revert to type. If they had continued attacking, I think they could have won.
Brazil falling to Croatia in the penalties. My wife (who's Brazilian) expected this would happen as the Croatian team has a history/strategy of winning with penalty kicks. She's just salty that the Argentineans are advancing, lol.
Portugal losing by 1 goal but Morocco is defending too much. Can’t blame her. Croatia only had 1 shot on target. 1 shot and it mattered. Tbh Brazil hasn’t been producing great players like Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos, Rivaldo, Kaka etc. Other than the WC2014 (which was in their home country). they have been going out in the quarters to the European teams.
I'm greatly displeased by the Nederlands losing in the penalties. That's it. Cancel the kitchen scraps for lepers and orphans, no more merciful beheadings, and call off Kerstmis.
1-nil to France! Quite a beautiful long shot I must admit. The Dutch blew it. After coming back from 2-nil down, I have no idea why they went back to their stale passing game. IMO the penalty awarded to Argentina was also soft.
England are out 2-1 against France. They had a chance to equalise but the player who is usually very reliable missed it. We’re going straight into the semis after the last round of matches. Then it will be a play-off for 3rd spot match for the losing semi-finalist, followed by the final.
Enjoyed watching the match. The Referee set the tone. Too often players go down at the slightest contact & awarded a freekick. Not this Referee.

Some folks found that he was abit bias towards France…tbh I felt England should have gotten another penalty in the first half…and I’m a “neutral” fan. True until they play it! Then you see the bronze winners all smiling! LOL!
Congrats to Messi and Argentina. Tough loss for Modric. Still very proud of Croatia and their results in the last 2 World Cup tournaments. Should be an interesting final on Sunday.
Argentina are through to the finals. Kudos to Croatia for they have been punching above their weight for the last 2 editions of the World Cup. IMO the penalty awarded to Argentina is “soft” (like the one against the Dutch) and should not have been give. The Argentine player had already taken a shot. It’s not like the Croatian goalkeeper brought him down before he attempted a shot on goal.
My exact same thoughts. You've had a clear shot at goal. The contact thereafter was incidental. No penalty.
