I’ve been saying since he was rumored that they need to make a Pulsecon exclusive set using dragon Megatron like you said. He’d run $90 or more, but man it’d be a great display piece. Include Megatron (maybe with a more accurate head), diagnostic drone, and his cloak and helmet. Other than that, the only others I’d be really interested in are the five Vehicons and Savage Noble. Also, I hope we get a new Optimal Optimus so they can include an Optimal Megatron head.
I have noticed that if you look at year one of Legacy it covers a wide gambit of the Transformers franchise, but conspicuous by their absence are Beast Machines and Energon. As for getting new Beast Machines toys, I kind of doubt it will happen. I mean the Vehicon designs are interesting the Maximals designs were awful and I don't think there are a lot of people demanding an update. Plus the show did terribly in Japan and wasn't too popular in the U.S. either so how big is the market for those toys? Plus Beast Wars is the more believed show and has many of the same characters and fans prefer those versions anyway. I just don't think there's much insentive for Hasbro to do figures of those characters anytime soon.
I'd like new toys of the Vehicons, but I would mind Maximals either, especially as there are VERY few toys that come close to matching their on-screen appearances. On the Jetstorm front, mine developed chrome eczema, but I was fortunate to find another with intact chrome for a reasonable price last year. I took it and slathered the shiny bits in clear-coat, and now I'm hoping for the best.
Considering the wide net cast by Legacy, I wouldn't be surprised if one or two BM characters showed up next year.
Would love to see them take another crack at BM. That line had some great toys. I’d like to see them take a crack at the show again too. See what they could do with it
Absolutely! There’s some really fantastic designs that deserve to be done justice in toy form. While we’re at it, let’s get some Transtech designs done too!
With Legacy pulling from seemingly every Transformers show and comic book ever, it’d be a damned shame if they skipped over Beast Machines. Even Thrilling 30 managed to give us a brilliant Tankor. So here’s hoping we get something from Beast Machines because I honestly liked that series and feel it’s pretty lousy that we’ve gotten almost no proper representation of the characters in toys.
I could see them tackling Beast Machine original characters, although I'm certain they'd disregard accuracy, in favour of making them more normal and marketable, but as most of the Maximals already exist in Beast Wars, I doubt we'll see Hasbro tackling them, since there's no point in trying to redesign something that already has multiple other, more marketable designs to use.
I wonder if they can take this as an opportunity and "fix" some of the toys. There are some great figures from the line, like Skydive and Hammerstrike. And, you got god awful ones like BM Quickstrike and Longhorn. I said take this chance and redesign them in Beast Wars style? It is a suggestion. They could start introducing BM by making Botantica. Poor gal never got a figure.
This needs to happen, give us a flight stand that hooks over maybe as well? SHOWER CURTAIN MEGATRON MUST HAPPEN
I could see them make really good show-accurate Vehicons. Maximals would be tricky, but I’m sure they could pull something off that at least resembles their on-screen appearance. Certainly better than what was originally done.
The show models were horrible, I agree. But most of the toy designs were good. UNfortunately, the toys and CGI were done in parallel, and Mainframe didn’t adjust their designs to match the toys. I’d like BM slightly better if the characters looked like the toys they were supposed to advertise.
A modern, voyager class, Obsidian and Strika would be in my shopping cart yesterday, if I could. I agree with everybody that the maximal toys were not good, but the Vehicons were a welcome to return to non-animal Transformers!
We at least need new Vehicons. I don't care if they're G1ified a bit to fit in with the rest of the line or just to make it physically possible for them to work in real life (which Jetstorm will probably need, considering his robot mode parts all just disappear for jet mode and vice versa).
I'm 100% down for new Beast Machines toys. The Maximal designs aren't my favorite but I'd still love to have toys of the main cast that are in scale with each other. And while I do like the original Vehicon toys, I wouldn't say no to updated versions of them, again in scale with the Maximals. Commander class Tankor for 2030!
