Oh that is fantastic. I was worried I might have to take long haul apart to use the new crotch / leg parts but apparently not. Just a matter of connecting the different pieces on the figure in the right places.

Thanks a bunch for posting the pictures step by step. I will definteley be coming back to follow those once the parts arrive.

Any word on if Devastator himself will get reissued at Showz or other retailers? Been a hot minute since I sailed the stormy seas of Chinese sellers shopping but I guess that's an option...

Man, 7 more days to go until my next paycheck... I really want this new upgrade kit and I hope ShowZ won't run out of stock before I'll have the chance to get it :(

Could anyone provide a shot of how OS Gravity Builder with the upgrade kit stands next to Siege Omega Supreme? I currently have Gravity Builder with the previous kit with the leg extenders and drill hands and he stands a head shorter than Siege Omega, I am kinda curious if the new kit is going to make him taller than Omega or if they'd at the very least stand eye to eye.

Here you go. Bear in mind my Jinbao OSKO Gravy has the Liketoys upscale kit and slippers on. You would think the Jinbao upscale kit/slippers will boost the height in the same way. I won’t know for sure until I get that. This is fresh off the press for you as a quick distraction to this report I’m trying to avoid starting.

You will be familiar with this scale for your devy with the current upgrade kit:

    E9936D9C-8797-4513-BD17-2DDD86148585.jpeg

    Some extras:

    4BED8CD9-C34A-4EDA-A78C-969FFD9D903F.jpeg 5D102961-5430-4006-8CEA-7E3FC6076124.jpeg 3FA9A6A9-DD75-4425-B51B-C81603679B5F.png

PS- I would advise against displaying your figure with the drill hands on. They are very heavy and will speed up the failing of the shoulder and arm joints. Basically wear out the friction and ratchets.

Hope this all helps. Let me know if you would like to see with anything else. I no longer have the Jujiang Jet Commander. Zeta Superitron replaced that.

Thanks a lot! That new kit really does add a ton of height to him

How is the stability compared to the older upgrade kit/default Jinbao Gravity Builder? I imagine between the new waist+upper legs and the feet stabilizers he'd feel a lot more solid than before, which has been my biggest concern with my Gravity Builder even though he is displayed in an enclosed shelf behind a glass door :p

Hot damn that Jet Commander looks sweet! I am currently using a knockoff Combiner Wars Superion as the main CHUG Superion in my display, but I might need to hunt for that set for how well it scales with Jetfire and Omega Supreme.

The initial Jinbao Devy for me before applying the older upgrade/leg extension kit was very restricted to certain poses and due to the top heavy nature of the combiner, setting the arms in particular poses would be enough to shift the balance and make Devy topple. The leg extension kit helped to stabilise from the waist down as well as firm up the A stance as I found he was initially a little lopsided. Display /posing options were still restricted to more upright positions. I had better success when installing Ultraman Zoffy’s stability kit to tighten up the feet/ankles and firm up the bucket right foot which would unclip and see the leg start to collapse due to the foot being undone. This latter issue I’m sure was causing most of my problems.

The Liketoys upscale kit (pants) really did address the stability and posing options taking the set to the next level. The slippers also helped to solidify and resolve the feet from coming apart on my set. So yes you are right, the pants and slippers do a massive job of righting the issues that plague this Devy. A game changer as far as I’m concerned. Cost me circa £120 for the kit/slippers from Liketoys via an agent. This Jinbao upscale kit is only $30. Those that have this OSKO Gravity Builder really should get this upscale kit. Will make so much difference. I agree the extra height might be a concern for scale fashionistas.

I think the key difference between the Liketoys set and the one Jinbao have copied and are releasing the pants wont be as hard/solid. It will certainly have more flex. A bit like that of the pants seen with Constructor, Zeta Superitron and Bruticon. That is my gut feel given it will be mass produced rather than 3d printed. Having said that, I just hope it will be robust enough to cope with the weight of 4 of the team. It will definitely be so much more polished than the Liketoys upscale kit and colour matched.

For $30 it is a steal. Just look at the DNA kits and the prices they go for. Look at the PE kits (feet/hands) for the combiner war combiners. The KO ones retail at circa $25-30 on places like AliExpress. The proper PE kits go for $70+ if you can find them. This Jinbao upscale kit is giving a bigger scaled head. Will look better on your set even if you don’t install the pants. I always thought the head looked too small on Devy with the leg extensions:

    C6FD1727-DEAB-41FE-B736-842264F0B586.jpeg

The slippers will help your current figure. I’m sure I wont be the only person who had the issues with the bucket foot unclipping and the ankles coming apart. This set really does include a lot for the relatively cheap price. Fingers crossed the quality is there.

The Jujiang Jet Commander is 17.5-18 inches tall. Definitely works well with Siege Omega and the figures from Siege/ ER/Kingdom and Legacy.

I have the Unite Warrior Superion and it was one of my first combiners and is the same height as Siege Jetfire. I didn’t get the feet/hands for that. I wasn’t happy with how short that combiner is. Hence why I got the Jujiang’s Superion. I seem to have settled on combiners being circa 19-21 inches tall so decided to switch out Jujiang for Zeta’s:

Maybe I shouldn’t have sold the Jujiang one.

I really like MMC and Unique Toys versions of Bruticus. They will scale well with Jujiang Jet Commander but not my Menasor, Superion or Devy. I was suppose to work on the Jinbao Warbotron and make it less stylised and more G1 toony. There are printed up parts that alter the appearance and raise the height to 19-20 inch territory. I’ve put that on the back burner for the moment. I have been tempted to get Zeta’s Bruticon.

EDIT- I said ankles coming apart when I should have said the heels

Where are folks finding this new upgrade kit for $30 shipped?

My jb devy stands on the shelf fine. I'm sure this kit will make it more stable, although even if I get it, it'll just get installed and continue to stand in the same spot. Lol. I rarely play or pose with my figs, so kind of undecided if I need yet another upgrade kit for this awesome, but aging set.

For 1/3 the cost of the full JB Devy, I dunno if it's really worth it, even if it does bring additional stability and posability. I mean, how many folks are playing with their JB Devy all that much these days?

Any thoughts from other owners who didn't buy the like toys set?

Don't know where the other member did, but I got mine off eBay (used but "new") for 100$ CAD (so around 70$US) last year.

Absolutely and why I didn't hesitate when I happened to see it at that price (and in Canada, so shipping was very acceptable compared to from the US where the shipping is also a kidney now).

I have the CW and even with the PE kits for the arms, it never felt that good/solid (value) for the price (especially with/on top of the kit added to it), and with every review and pictures of the Jinbao one I would debate as I already had the Bruticus and Predaking so knew that it would be quality made, until I found it at that price. Note

Between the details and just about everything (including that all of the combiner parts can be integrated with the individual robots), I've looked at every other version of Devastator out there and for me, none comes close to as good looking and such as this one. It's crazy how great some figures that some companies are able to put out at such prices, as if this was Hasbro, this would be easily be double, triple that easily and most probably that for something this detailed and such quality, they'd make it an Haslab funded thing.

I'm sure you're referring to third-party figures in general, but I hope you're keeping in mind that Jinbao's is so cheap cause they didn't have to put any budget into engineering the figures, as Generation Toy did all the work.

Of course, but overall, you can take away the main engineering but considering that many KOs do get some changes to improve (or the opposite and simplify them) on the original design, you still have to get the molds produced, the plastic/material, etc. so the production itself will still the main significant cost.

When you see a mold being re-issued, several re-colours of the same figure, etc. it's always "funny" that Hasbro ends up reselling the same figure at the "new and improved higher price", when there is no new cost involved.

And with the tech of today, the engineering is simplified ten-fold easily, so the cost of development is far from what it used to be.

After that initial dev. cost is over with, any reprints/reuse becomes a money factory in that sense.

One thing I wonder is if the KOs are all "equal" as I would assume that it's either they are able to get a copy of the CAD files, copies of the molds, reproduce the molds from a sample (original), or simply obtained the actual molds... it's always been a question. In this case, being OSKOs, either they managed to get the original CAD files and simply increased the scale to produce the molds, or they reproduced them from an original and then re-scaled... if the later, the work involved would still be significant I would believe.

There are some 3rd party stuff that is original and that still outdoes Hasbro's costs easily, and still are better plastic, overall quality, etc. so even with the dev. costs, it ends up depending on the company itself and how much profit they are aiming at.

If JinBao reissued the Battle Damage version of their Devastator Gravity Builder, I would buy that immediately. That version on Ebay sells for a lot.

I'll be ordering my set when I get home tonight. But I've never had any issues with my Devy's ankles coming apart at all.

Got mine from AliExpress this year for around £95/100 to U.K. delivered (though had to add another figure in to break the £138/140 barrier where the vat vanishes from the checkout)

Be aware that I had a LOT of trouble finding it (Jet Commander) and got lucky in doing a "want ad" and someone responded...

Then of course 2 months later, TFSource got some (still do) https://tfsource.com/jujiang/jj-02-jet-commander so if you really want one, consider it now before it sells out again as it took me months to find mine as they are fairly well sought after.

And in case you are wondering about it, there's threads for him but quickly: it's freaking amazing... I absolutely love mine.

I’m very anxious to see how the new shoulder joints work!!
Do the foot upgrades clip on?
Have we seen an image of the back with the upgrade kit in place?
