Flametoys hired a porn artist to do the concept art and Hasbro, oddly enough, wanted a few changes to it before they'd allow this officially licensed mass-market product to go out. I like how this became "The terrible skeleton warriors forced poor Flametoys to change it  " because the cute girl transformer model kit wasn't cute and sexy enough.

I'm currently trying to build and finish Degen Nakoruru...this kit is trash in the vein you mentioned.

 

I had no issue building mine, painted it head to toe as well, very easy to spray on the sprue. Lovely candy-apple red and matte black really made it pop.

However, having a sturdy one to fiddle with is welcome too. Hooe someone posts a pre-order link as soon as it becomes available.

 

I question the point of this.

 

ShowZ has this up for pre-order. $60. Not too bad. But did they like simplify the hell out of her or something? The pic just isn't looking great. Not to mention the deadest looking eyes I think I've ever seen on a TF figure.



I don't know. Maybe it'll look better from other angles but I'm not super impressed just yet.

 

@Snaku thx bud, I don't know much of the figure since she's newer gen and I'm really old ;p but bought (I do like the design, ala the Robo Geishas from Ghost in the Shell). Her eyes are black though right? Now I have to go search and compare...or do that once I get the figure in hand

I'm also concerned about the reproduction of the face. Hard light in the photography washes the fine details.
Either she'll have the typical 3P pouty fish lips or it's almost erased detail like in KOMP Hotrod.

I have the model kit and it's so fragile, I already broke the earrings. I want a sturdy figure for cool poses.

 

The character's eyes are blue. The model kit uses clear blue plastic backed with silver paint but it looks like this figure is just unpainted clear blue. I would speculate that it's an unpainted prototype but we see paint apps here and there.

Meaning the model looks 1000% better? I think that percentage might be a little high but I agree it looks better. Looks like it's less of a pre-assembled figure and more of a simplified one. Like parts that were made of several pieces are now single-cast. Doesn't make it look great.

Agreed, she is fragile. I broke one of the earrings partly as well (plastic broke and bent but didn't break off completely). I was excited at the prospect of a more solidly built figure but the result just doesn't look as good as I was hoping.

I'm debating between waiting to see more pics to see if this is just unfinished or if I should just get it and paint it up myself to make her look better.

Why would anyone get the worse looking KO for the price of the original?

 

More solid/durable? Some people don't like to put together model kits. I have the kit (actually I have two - one I assembled and a second one unassembled that I want to paint someday) but I was thinking of getting the figure as well just to have one that's more playable but I'm really waffling on it now - I think I will wait for more pics to see if it looks any better.

 

Why does she look off? The eyes are definitely a factor but something else just seems different about it. Anyone willing to pose their official one in a similar pose to help answer this question?

 

Yeah, but at this point I doubt it’s going to do much better at $60 than just buying the kit yourself at the same price would. At least it would definitely look better.

Looks to be changed eyes and sculpt.

 

@octobotimus ah thx, pics do wonders   Seems to be more robotic/angular and slightly less organic looking if that's accurate...I' min a hurry to hit a 6hr road trip.

Sucks about the soft chest. It really stands out and looks bad. It also explains the missing paint apps in that region.

 

Not to mention the face sculpt also a major downgrade from the original version. Might wait a bit longer to see.

Oof on the soft chest. At least her eyes have some life to them now. Also, am I blind or am I only seeing one head? It says it has an additional one.
