Can’t wait to see how they G1-ify Animated Optimus to fit the WFC asthetic, defeating the whole purpose of him being animated Optimus.

Animated Cybertron Megatron please.

Wow, there's a lot of figures that I'm interested in here, I wasn't expecting that.

 

I’m hoping we get the Transmetals (like Rattrap, with the backpack actually rotate like in the cartoon and his rifle), Quickstrike (Deluxe) Lockdown, Drift, Sureshot, Crosshairs (with his Targetmaster)

 

Hopefully the Takara designers are having most of the input on Cybertron Starscream, they did an excellent job with Override and from the looks of it, Metroplex and Leo Prime. Modern articulation and a few proportional bits is all the original voyager version of the figure was missing. Seems like Hasbro has finally caught up on the logic that they can basically keep releasing a new Starscream, Megatron, Optimus etc every year by doing all the different versions. Fans are happy and they can keep the household names on shelves. Hopefully Animated Starscream and all his glorious repaints (Thundercracker I’m begging) are close behind.

Animated Optimus isn’t my first pick for an Animated figure, but if doesn’t have as many of the gimmick compromises as the original I’ll be happy. I am still worried for the “G1-ified” route they plan, surely they would end up pretty much like a lot of the 2008/2010 modernised designs or just slightly “off” versions of their G1 counterparts in a lot of cases. There needs to be some stylistic flair of some kind, Prowl will show us if he isn’t some disappointing Arcee retool. Lockdown, Wasp, Lugnut and Sentinel Prime are my big wants from Animated.

BW Silverbolt is great news. He should hopefully be a fully realised figure without much sacrifice, the cartoon model mostly matched the Fuzor toy so just needs some modern articulation, sculpt and paint work. Hopefully Quickstrike and the Transmetal guys aren’t too far behind. It’s a bit bizarre that Tigerhawk would be coming so soon though, as he/they basically shows up for like 10 minutes last minute in the series- presumably they are mould mates or share some engineering. I would have thought Depth Charge would be higher up on their radar, as he seems to be more popular of the late BW guys. They basically have Transmetal Cheetor half done already with Ravage, just needs the Transmetal limbs and cat head arms.

Thundertron is an odd choice. Either someone was passionate about giving him another go or he is a retool of Leo Prime, probably both. The more popular Prime characters will see figures, so I’m not worried.

 

The only way I would buy animated prime is if they improve his design by making him less ugly or if they give him a gun

Both of those things go against animated very philosophy. The art style, sure, that take some getting used to. But no autobot ever had a gun because they were never built for war, while the decepticons are all war machines

 

Is there a possibility that it might mean WFC/FOC Starscream? (I seem to recall there being a rumor of High Moon-styled Optimus Prime and Megatron figures a while back).

 

I like what is supposedly going to come out and I have faith that the list is accurate. Unfortunately there are only a few I want to get. Maybe sandstorm and definitely silverbolt. I’m toying with the idea of repurposing thundertron as onyx prime

 

If it's WFC/FOC Starscream then it would be outlined as such and it would be in the SS line just like the WFC Bumblebee and Barricade listings IIRC.

 

So we got at least 1 remaining Leader, 3 remaining voyagers, and a whole roster of deluxes.

My hope for the leader is either Thunderwing or an Animated character such as Lugnut or Megatron.

As for voyagers, there’s a lot of options, though I think we could see another Prime character, perhaps Soundwave or Shockwave. It’s hard to say as practically everything seems to be on the table now, which I have no issue with.

Im quite curious as to what the commander will be. We know 2023 is Armada Prime, but there were rumors last year that Menasor could be followed by an updated Defensor. That’s why I’m quite curious to see the deluxe listings. The presence of any combiner limbs could be an indication.

 

so wait, if G2 grimlock's part of the capsule line....assuming it's a G2 subline, what if the deluxe repack is leadfoot or roadrocket?

 

I'm hoping that animated Prime comes with his trailer that turns into the jetpack, but since he's a voyager I doubt he will. I'm still excited for it either way.

 

How the hell could they already have listings for 2024?!? 2 years earlier? These are more likely for 2023, no?

Or... Jungle Planet subline. Someone mentioned this idea for a subline, and I feel it could work. Don't remember who thought of it, but credit goes you, whoever you are.

It would line up great with Rise of the Beasts, and Scourge (Cybertron) could hypothetically be the other leader (because no way is he done on an exclusive budget in Voyager Scale). Can see Antagony and Fractyl being in the line as well, being easy redecoes of Inferno and Terrorsaur. Might be throwing random ideas here, but Cosmos may be the Deluxe repack? Could be done as an attempt to get him to more people (since Cosmos is heading to Scalpertown, and there shouldn't be any issues considering that he'd still likely be a Walmart exclusive if Walmart still wants yearly exclusive lines), and it can easily be handwaved as "Cosmos crash lands into the Jungle Planet". I mean, makes more sense than Galaxy Shuttle being in a race with a construction vehicle and a tanker truck.

 

I was wondering that too. United?? Unity?? Universe??? This should be a good one. It’s the one that drops during the 40th Anniversary.

Blue G2 Grimlock is the only correct answer.

Also hoping we get a larger Commander Class Broadside.

Thoughts:

- Prime Thundertron? Leo Prime retool would be my guess

- G1 Sandstorm. Finally, but after that Blitzwing failure, I shall keep my expectations very low. Like Blitzwing, I expect them to go for an action figure again, instead of an actual triple changer that values all of its modes

- Voyager TFA Optimus? Hm.. that voyager part is what disappoints me slightly. I was hoping for a leader class, so he can turn into the full fire truck. I'm guessing this is "just" going to be the cab with an axe on the truck bed.. however, mark my words:

Just like SS-32 Optimus Prime, I think it could turn out wise to hold out a little longer, if you want the full fire truck with wing backpack!

I remember advising everyone to skip SS-32 and wait for the DotM version with the trailer, which I guessed was coming due to Jetfire packing that extra abdomen piece. Turned out, I was right and many regretted buying SS-32. It's hard to tell this early, but I think we could be looking at a similar situation here
