I stopped being bothered by what they do in TF movies since 2007 so this just tracks with what I expected from live-action.

If Bee does get killed (to make room for Mirage as the new kid appeal character) and then gets revived, I will be mighty sad if it's not as Goldbug.

    Ugh.

Back to the busy, cluttered Bay aesthetic it is then.

ADD generation garbage, sorry - and some hideously self-conscious CGI.

Already know enough from watching to skip this. They need to completely rethink Transformers' potential as a big screen experience: story, nuance, visuals.

Ditch ILM, the summer tentpole expectation, go esoteric & smart in sci-fi the way Andor did with Star Wars.

This has way too much DNA with what has failed before.

Disguises* Mirage's thing is stealth. He can go invisible and create disguises. Hound is the only one who was capable of projecting actual holographic objects.

We’ve seen roughly 2 and half minutes of a 2 hour+ movie my guy. While it could very well be dogshit, it’s honestly way too early make any sort of coherent judgments about anything.

Hmm... I am in no way trying to rain on anyone's parade but I am not sure how much I like it based on this trailer. The designs... don't seem that good. I think the beasts are dull, I don't like the Prime or Bee design, the other bots we do see are very meh. Wish there was more bay designness tbh. Not a fan of Bee's smoothness. Not enjoying Scourge tbh. I love Arcee though!
Apparently Stratosphere is in this movie?

I am still hopeful as this is just the first trailer but I am no longer as excited. I do think this will make a rockin toyline though based on Battletrap! So that's where most of my hype lies now lol.

Honestly it's just cool to see and it still fits with the name. Like to be frank, I think unless you're a hardcore G1 fan, it's barely gonna read to you that the Autobots at one point had powers. Most of them were used for maybe an episode or two, they've never made much reappearances in major ways outside of G1. Really it's at best a nitpick.

That would be fantastic which is why I'm certain it's not happening. Bumblebee likely will remain Bumblebee for marketing purposes.

I don't think ILM is on this one, some company called MPC I think?

Tbf only reason Mirage was called Dino in DOTM was because of Ferarri and Wheeljack being called Que was a Bond reference.

The designs you have to remember here are unfinished. Trailers don't always come out with 100% finished CG, it's almost always content that the studio has decided is finished enough to cut together. I remember when Bumblebee came out and people mentioned that the CG seemed off but time passed and then it looked great. AOE looked particularly rough especially during the first teaser but with a few trailers and then the release it looked visually incredible.

My heart skipped a beat after watching this trailer... and watching it and watching it yet again. In fact I've watched it about 5 times today at different times. Feels like the old days when a new TF movie was akin to a special event. Can't wait to see this one in my comfy movie theatre chair w/a bag of popcorn.

I like Bumblebee's transformation. Looks blocky and you can very clearly follow where every piece is going. Much more like traditional animation and the toys in contrast to the visual noise of Bayverse. More complex is cool to look at too, but glad to see there's an intentional vision here for the visual language.

Mirage on the bridge is neat. Transforming from car to car to flip orientation, and then using his holograms, are smart uses of their more alien abilities. Of course fans will recognize that Mirage just does holograms because that's his thing. Transformers have a lot more tricks they can pull besides going from car to bot and back to car again. That creativity is an aspect we see a lot of in the old IDW comics and in Transformers Animated. The movies did need more of it so happy to see that here.

Beast Wars tends to involve time travel, and Primal specifically calling out "past and future" here makes me concerned they could easily pull some tricks with time travel that cheapen the story. Maybe Bee actually dies when he gets stabbed, which is why he isn't in the group shot later, and they time travel him back to life later on? Big big risk of cheap cliches and losing all stakes when time travel is introduced, so if they're doing it here I hope they set some rules.

Teasing a big threat coming later? Unicron perhaps? Saving the interesting threat for a later movie runs the risk of making this one feel like set-up. So hopefully they have a meaningful story to tell this time and they don't just throw a boring horde at us at the end so they can still fight something.

The core cast of Autobots is kept small which is a good sign, but there are just as many beasts here too and who knows how many villains. Lots of characters to juggle. Big risk as well for one movie.

The CGI doesn't look even as good as Bumblebee, but still looks like a movie? Marvel movies look better or worse than this depending on the scene and some shots from the Bay movies look like this. I would not be surprised at all if these were final effects. This thing releases in 6 months. It looks fine I guess? They're probably still working with a reduced budget and there are a lot more characters this time. It's whatever.

Overall I'm expecting a comedown from Bumblebee but I'm seeing some positive signs too. If it can even be a 7/10 movie I'll be happy.

I like what I\'m seeing, but since this is a Teaser Trailer, I wonder what they show for \"Official\"/\"New\" Trailer

Also I hope we get a better look at some of the characters somewhat soon cause besides, Prime, Primal\'s Beast Mode, Bumblebee and Arcee, we didn\'t really got a proper look at most of the characters, even Mirage who\'s a good chunk in the trailer we really mostly see him as a car or his back lol

It's funny to read through a new trailer thread every few years. You get to see how the posts adopt to include whatever trendy/popular criticism is out there. For this trailer, it seems to be "This is MCU-level bad." Love it.

It is hardly ADD generation. Comparing to teasers we got before like the AOE teaser? Visually I can see everything going on and in terms of the trailer itself, it tries to actually give us an idea of what the film is about which is the Autobots meeting the Maximals and learning of the Terrorcons. Same goes for the aesthetic, while I will say there are more elements of the Bay look in this movie? It's not to an egregious degree. For example, look at Bumblebee and compare him to the first movie. They follow similar aesthetics but Rise of the Beasts goes for a look that's visually more clean and simple than what the Bay films go for.

While the CGI does look mediocre and unfinished, I will never get the MCU comparison

Even though Decepticons won’t appear in the movie I think Hasbro should still make Decepticon toys even though none have been announced already.

Yeah that's fair... I do doubt there will be too much aesthetic change by release but maybe I will ending up adoring the designs. Hated TLK Aut Rhaud in 2017 (god has it been five years, already?) and now I love him sooo... people change.

Again, I was answering a question that was asked. What part of that isn't getting through your head?
If you bothered to have actually read, I started out saying that I was digging the Mirage character, and included my nicknames for him. I even went on to say they were just nicknames I had given him and were not insults.
YOU are the one making mountains out of mole hills, bud. Lighten the hell up.

Friendly Advice: Never come at someone without knowing the context of what was said.
