Man you hit the nail on the head! As I previously stated, more people would be calling foul if it weren't for the fact that these figures are very affordable. Now let this happen to some of those expensive Masterpiece figures that people buy and I bet you they'd be singing another tune.

And you're right, a lot of companies put out better versions "down the road"... This guy put out a better, more color accurate version as soon as the inferior version shipped out!

That comment didn't make much sense bro... You need to elaborate at least a tad bit. What does that even mean and how the heck does that even remotely pertain to what I stated??? SMH... Have a good night sir.

It sucks for you because you feel that badly about being duped by Dr. Wu. Most other people would be mildly annoyed at best. Sorry about that.

Even Hasbro does this. I'm sure you're familiar with the whole premium finish line.

Like the entire MP + series of anime-accurate paint jobs they've already been releasing?

Dr. Wu revealed the accurate colored Slamdance a few days after the first version was released.

Let's see how the fanbase would react if HasTak revealed Premium Finish Optimus, or MP+ versions, two days after the first versions of those figures with slightly inaccurate colors get released. I bet the people who preordered the first versions would be thrilled.

At least the non-premium paint versions cost less. And the first MP versions were accurate to 'something'. The g1 toys.

The first red/blue Wu Slamdance release can only be accurate to the g1 toy. He wasn't in the cartoon. The black or green variants are fun alternative decos, and can be their own thing.

The people who wanted an accurate Slamdance , and ordered the first version, now get to know that the fun new figure that they just got yesterday was actually made less accurate on purpose. Because it's now shown that they could have just made the first release in accurate colors. They just held that info back. Just like the Squawkbox.

In this very thread, some people were saying oh crap, now I have to buy the same figure again lol. Literally days after they got the first one. Paying double the price essentially.

MIC DROP! Thanks Psychoshi! At least someone gets it... It's nice to have your own educated opinion as opposed to jumping on someone else's bandwagon.

Does anyone have closeup in-hand pictures of both the regular and anime versions side by side? There are things I like about both but would like to see in-hand pictures to make up my mine. I all I really can find online are Dr. Wu's pics of the anime version. Would really like them to be in the same shot for better comparison.

Right now I have both on pre-order with BBTS but will cancel one. Still leaning to the original but I like the dark grey on the anime better. May look into getting the green version later since Blaster needs a few more minions.

I just eBay this stuff like a bum... my saved search notifications go off for new Extreme Warfare sets though. That's how I found out about these guys!

They pair really well with my minicon/Wu collection naturally. I really like the plastic they use - it's the best of any 3P figures I own. Crisp for small details but with enough give to still feel toy-like and playable. As cassette warriors they're too big to scale (unless you count mass shifting) but as figures they make for some imposing bruisers on the field.

$29 with free shipping, delivery only took two weeks. I've always had good luck with a few 3P dealers on eBay. I'm paying a few bucks more for the ease of mind that it's in-stock and not difficult to refund through the site.

Extreme Warfare is a subline of minicon-scale figures by Dr Wu. I'm obsessed, they're the reason I joined this board :D  these cassette figures use the same box art style and branding, even if they're a different sub-line technically. Two figures to a box, generally around $30 per set.

I got some of these for myself, and I'm having a problem with the weapons on the head falling off easily. I wish I could just glue them in place, but they rotate as part of transformation. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

He’s really good. Obviously a huge improvement over the G1 toy. But even within the context of Dr. Wu, this one feels like a much more refined version of this gimmick. The weapons in particular peg in a lot more securely.

A very, very thin coating of clear fingernail polish will do the trick.
