First reactions from IMDb - more Smallville and Harry Potter than Addams Family, Tim Burton directing is not bad but not great.

I saw the first two episodes. Wednesday is a lot of fun, and being performed perfectly. I think it is less Smallville/Harry Potter, and more of, Monster High. Monster High, if it contained adult content, like severed limbs, and mangled corpses. I'm enjoying this series, and the mysteries that are to be solved, along with the clues being found along the way. Most of the characters seem to be great, and well acted. Don't really have any complaints about them. There are some cliches going around, about high school cliques and whatnot, but it does seem to be using those elements to it's advantage, rather than disadvantage.

I will most likely watch the rest of the season. Although, Netflix, why do you need a 'next time' at the end of your Netflix show, when all your Netflix seasons come out on the same day? LOL What a pointless thing, it sounds like this wasn't meant to go to Netflix at all, to be honest. Which is understandable, it was made by MGM after all, apparently.

We watched the first episode and it was good. I'd say the only weak point thus far as been Jones being completely wrong for Morticia. She's just too stilted and doesn't seem to have that much chemistry with Guzman.

Jones isn't a great Morticia in the first episode, however, she does great in a later episode. She did not win me over, until that episode. I think it was the 5th episode, maybe she'll win you over as well. The actress they got to play Wednesday however, seems to be perfect in the role. In ways, I actually consider her better at the role than Ricci was in the same role way before. Although, I imagine a lot of it has to do with the writing.

First, I forgot to mention this yesterday, but BEST VERSION OF PAINT IT BLACK EVER!!!! That was absolutely amazing!

Next up, we watched 2-4 and this show continues to be really good. I haven't enjoyed a Netflix show this much since A Series of Unfortunate Events. I have to say that this show does Monster High better than the actual Monster High stuff. All of the characters are well done because some you really want to hate, while others you can't help but like. The poor beehive keeper boy. You can't help but constantly feel sorry for him. Oh, and another awesome cover for "Nothing Else Matters" from the show.

I've finished the season, and I must say I am really glad
the series wraps itself up in a neat little bow at the end, without any large cliffhangers or anything. It's still meant to continue and all, but it has also ended in such away that if they do not get renewed for a second season, that the show can be over. And, I'm really happy it didn't break up the season in half or anything.

Every role is fantastic, I absolutely love Wednesday in this version. She is better in this role than basically anyone else who has ever played Wednesday, hands down. It's like this actress was tailored made for this role. The others are all good, in their own way, but the mere fact that this version develops over the time, and has way more screentime, has really pushed this one over the edge for me. I absolutely want to see more of this show, and I want to see the rest of the Addams Family members, and their cousins a lot more, too. I want to see her solve another mystery. To see all the many twists and turns it takes, and see where it all leads up to, would be wonderful. This season was quite wonderful at doing all that.

I want a second season, but I would also be happy if it ended here, too. Fantastic job from everyone involved in the cast and crew, everyone did their jobs very well. Taking Wednesday, and turning her into basically Velma from Scooby Doo, was genius. There is no way this show is not doing a better job of telling Velma as a detective, with Wednesday in her place, than the actual Velma show will. There's no doubt in my mind about that. This show really cares about the Addams, and doesn't try to change anything major, doesn't try to 'adapt' to a modern audience or anything, it just does the Addams, but in a private high school setting. I will love to see Wednesday continue to be in this setting, and continue to solve mysteries. Hopefully more overarching mysteries of an entire season.

And, Netflix, don't ruin this by breaking these seasons in two.

We watched 5 and 6 a little bit ago. The family visit one was pretty interesting though I'm still not feeling Jones. The backstory was interesting and the scene of Pugsly and Wednesday using grenades to fish was totally an Addams Family moment. It's amazing how this series has been able to combine elements to the original stories with modern day mannerisms and make them work seemlessly. Episode 6 was fantastic and might be my favorite of the ones we have so far. So much horror elements in there combined with a few good plot twists. I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out that Ricci's character is the culprit (though, it could be the therapist, but Ricci has raised all of the red flags for me). I also like how they have written Wednesday's development over the course of the series.

Gotta day, this show surprised me. Not overly into TV nowadays, but my girlfriend watched the first episode and recommended that I watch as well.
We watched the first three or four, can't remember because we hit "next episode" so quickly.
Highlights for me were the first cello performance, the second one at the town event, and that dance. Man, that dance was inspired.
I also like a lot of the little homages to the original series. The double snap thing was genius.
Overall, it's definitely a worthwhile watch.

...Hands , down Wednesday was everything I hoped it would be and more. Session II , needs some minor tweaking other than that, it sounds like a lot of fast flowing deadpan humor is coming; once Wednesday sees Enid's regular bedroom lol those too are a trip.

"Paint it Black" was absolute perfection.
She also played Vivaldi's "Winter" on cello.

All right, so we finished the show tonight. Things did take the predictable route, but it was still enjoyable for how it was executed regardless. Everything I had to say about the show before remained true now. It was amazing how they managed to take The Addams Family, sprinkle in a touch of Harry Potter, and come out with their own blend of awesomeness. It was really well done and I couldn't care less if we ever got another season because I doubt it would be able to live up to this one. I was surprised to see Fester only in one episode considering how all of the hype they had surrounding his casting a few months ago. Great stuff all around. I'd say I would totally buy it in 4K, but the likelihood of Netflix wanting my money is slim to none.

Seems to me that the author of the article didn’t really watch the entire season. Characters may start out one way and change over time into something else. That’s kind of human nature and perfectly “normal” (pun intended in relation to the nature of the school). Also, rival doesn’t necessarily equate to bully and I think that applies in this situation.

I wasn’t paying attention to the race of an actor or actress, but rather the quality of dialogue and that person’s role in the plot. That and just enjoying a well written and very well acted tv show.

People get hung up over stupid ass bullshit.

Why I rarely, if ever, read reviews. Too many people looking for a reason to be fake-offended and not enough just wanting to watch a fun story.

It's CBR, it's pretty much just random bullshit put together, to form an article in order to get people to click on their website. One can actually create real headlines on this generator about CBR, complete with which author wrote it, too! It's almost as if their entire website is made up bullshit from a randomly generated ai.
