There's a noticable increased resistance to everything on him lining up and holding together as easily as the previous release. Where I have gotten everything tabbed and locked firmly on the shuttle eventually but it was more fussy about being hinged and aligned just right before doing so. Especially the clearance of the tail folding up between the legs in the back end but I couldn't tell you why. I just folded n refolded it a few times until it finally felt like it was sitting right.

The neck also the way it slides in there's some point internally where it feels like its sticking more and you have to shove it a bit harder than the first release.

Because of this although the re-run is more overall solid once transformed I do still enjoy transforming the original more.

 

As of today, I`m a proud owner of Sky Lynx.

The hardest part for me, was getting the tail/rear back in when I went back to shuttle-mode.
Apart from that, I have only one complaint: The small covers on Magna`s shoulders are way too loose, and keep falling out.

 

Sad to hear there's small QC issues here and there. Will be skipping.

Like, 2 and a half critiques that aren't wholly negative. Just seems odd to react like it's a mess with those sort of minor issues.

 

My criticism wasn't negative really, just observing noticable differences in tolerances of part molding, which neutrally applies to the hobby in general as many highly praised toys will have parts that require more effort to align/hinge/tab.

Takara's Beast Wars Megatron has its infamously extremely tight waist extension joint for aligning his torso, despite that he's still one of my most beloved possessions.

 

I don't know much about skylynx, I see mmc skylynx is the only 3rd party model at the moment about this character, so I want to ask what is the criteria to decide to buy MMC skylynx, is it G1 ,cartoon,or OX ver,or IDW ver,or size..... i need some criteria to decide whether to buy it or not, i'm currently 50/50,

 

Honestly, it's whatever you decide is best for your collection. It's a pricey bot and honestly, do you care enough about Skylynx to add him to your collection (I did)?

 

Sky Lynx is glorious, what other criteria is there? He is equally glorious in all forms. (well, except maybe Beast Hunters...)

 

I can tell you theirs is not cartoon colors.

 

I am hoping another company takes a swing at this guy. The kibble seems distracting when uncombined.

That is a surplus of one colour, sure, but everything is exactly the same. I was looking at multiple appearances of Skylynx in the original cartoon and his size, body shape and proportions, Autobot insignia and colour distribution all change constantly.

Let's agree that the original cartoon was a design shitshow and be happy with the figures we can get.

 

The added gold is a huge improvement that adds more dynamism to the design.

Tho, I still would like a rerun of the original someday or an SG. .^.

 

Does anyone know when the toon version(lighter colors) is supposed to be released? I feel like I've been waiting FOREVER.. lol. It's gotta be soon, right?

 

It already has? Mine's already out of China and probably landed in the US by now.
