BBTS still has preorders, and a 90 day Pile of Loot before you have to ship.

Not trying to crap on your work but, nah. Borrowed headsculpt aside, the sculpt on TE-01 is way too flat and linear. MS-02 nailed the body sculpt, it just needed a whole lot more TLC in the factory.

It would appear to be they are.

I took delivery of my copy a few days ago. Just had an opportunity to mess with it this morning. I’m glad they didn’t go overboard on the diecast like they did with Percy (which I do like a lot) meaning you don’t have to be precise with posing the figure. Articulation and posing on this figure is light years ahead of MP22. That ab-crunch is sweet.

I will be down for transforming it later today when I have some time. Good to hear that those that have transformed to alt mode are saying it comes together nicely and is stable.

Anyone on the fence and unsure about upgrading to this from MP22 because they think it would be a sideways move, would be mistaken in my opinion just on a bot to bot comparison at this stage.

I'm with Furb, even though I have zero use for ab-crunches. (They make a figure look like it has broken.) TE Prime IS blocky Sunbow Prime.

On topic: I'll buy this new Magnus and give it a try. Maybe I'll be convinced seeing him side by side with MP22.

Still waiting on mine to get here from Bombusbee. In the meantime, gotta say the ludicrous posts I've seen in Facebook groups where the general hate for Xtransbots or need to feel better about what they already have are entertaining. My favorite so far is "MP-22 is MORE CARTOON ACCURATE." I mean, seriously? :

RM did a double whammy and delivered Phantasm and Stack today, yay! Phantasm is done and great, moved onto Stack. Very good quality, lovely figure. Transforming him and stuck at the arms already- instructions say to pull arms down to reveal the double joint, but they are terrifyingly tight and I don't want to rip them off trying to force them down.

EDIT: Unscrewed and extended like recommened up-thread, sorted.

It seems as though nowadays, the thing that makes a figure good or bad is the company that made it.

I saw a person complain about how the arms on Stack were too long (even then, it's a nonissue and within the realm of possibility), and when someone brought up the fact that they were accurate, they ridiculed that reply and just made some generic response on how 'fT iS tHe BeSt'. Same guy immediately dismissed Eligos over Quietus because he deemed the former as 'not toon enough'.

Hating on figures just because a certain company made them is honestly childish.

Honestly I might not even bother with the fans toys offering and I usually get their stuff. Being a bot with armor on it the articulation would likely suffer compared to this.

xtransbots have taken some flak (rightfully so) but they’ve been taking strides to improve. Also they’ve been just as helpful with after sales support as fans toys, in some regards even more so. I’m kinda glad to see them doing better. The fanboyism doesn’t do anyone good. The more options out there of a character the better off we all are.

Starting to see comments about sturdiness in the other mode which is heartening as my last buy (Janssen) was a floppy mess. Although he was a microscope…

the complication of the transformation also concerned me however I’m starting to wane on that. It’s a big bot that turns into a full truck with trailer and we all praise road king (rightfully so) but it is a complex transformation too and one that did my head first time. So I think maybe I was being a bit harsh on that. As long as it tabs right and is solid and the qc is up to par (it seems to be so far) it may be a win

This is looking to be the 3P figure of the year to me.

Making an articulated Magnus that looks this good while also sliming it down about 15-20% from 22 can’t be an easy feat.

For people who have both: how does he compare to Gravestone?
    Posability, transformation, tolerances, paint...

    YouTube (Handle):
Man, that double elbow joint is not a good design. The little raised blue pieces on either side of the forearm are too big, so it's no wonder it won't slide easily. I shaved them down a tiny bit on the left arm and I still have to unscrew by five turns to utilise the joint (had to almost completely unscrew the right before they'd move without shaving). Don't wanna go too much more in case I go too far and it gets loose. The pins in the hinges on the forearm pieces aren't fired all the way in either, so they have to be pushed past the plastic and are scratching it. Luckily it doesn't show in bot mode as it's under the forearms, but it will in alt mode.

Finding a few more things like this with it. The shoulders can be pushed in closer to the body, but get stuck, so you have to disassemble the arms to free them up. Well actually, my copy only pushes in on one side as the pin prevents it on the other and, again, I don't want to break it. Also had to tighten the screw for the ab crunch as it kept tilting forward. Still not perfect, but I'm gonna crack the plastic if I go tighter. I don't rate the odds of that joint having longevity.

So yeah, a decent figure, but it still has the typical XTB problems when it comes to the overall design and finish.

That was a pretty bad experience trying to transform it, four hours later I gave up at the last few steps cos the instructions aren't great and a transform it YT video just seemed to skip over stuff.

The transformation wasn't terrible per say, so much as just very involved and the guidance for doing it is awful. Did note stress marks on the red tabs in the abdomen and on the alt rear where the arms tab in. Ultimately it looks awesome and feels good quality, but it'll be for display rather than transforming. Maybe when I come to transform it a few months down the line, better video guides will exist and it'll be less of an ordeal.

Funny enough I found the cab the easiest bit to transform, and it comes together pretty well.

This is my first figure from them, but I have a ton from Fans Toys. I can tell you that the build and material quality on this guy come pretty close to a Fans Toys figure, BUT, it totally destroys most Fans Toys figures in terms of articulation. I've said it before but Fans Toys figures, as far as articulation, are still stuck in the MP-10 era of masterpiece figures. Good, but lacking now. I used to think that the articulation limits were the price you had to pay for such solid figures, but I don't know anymore. Either way XTB did pretty good getting this figure so solid and articulated even if it has little issues like the difficult arm sliding.

BUT fortunately with FT having the inner botmode style Magnus, they both offer something worthwhile here.

Bot mode really is outstanding, has great presence and that face sculpt is gorgeous. Really need a better Hot Rod and a Rodimus now.
