Kind of odd as people have been able to get replacement parts lately.

Which hinge exactly? There are almost a dozen visible here.

The grey one actually bended. It has no use, tbf.

My best guess is that it's only there as stress break.

As a contiguous thin panel, it might have risked getting warped/bent through careless handling of the actual intended hinge. Now, if too much force is applied, the other hinge can just collapse instead.

Of course the choice is up to you, but it will take your time to identify the correct paint, buy it, paint it, and then hope you're satisfied with the results...which is also a gamble. I would hold Takara accountable and return it--it's not like it's a hard-to-find figure. IMHO people let companies off the hook way too easy. I always return defective products if it in any way impacts my satisfaction...but that's just me.

I’ve used this before. It’s about as close aa you will get. You can find it at Hobby Lobby.

I think the better option is picking a color that's close enough and painting both sides so they match.

i would suggest it’d take more effort to match and paint that section than to just return and repurchase. it’s just a trip to the post office and a few clicks to reorder compared to the alternative.

LOL, what the fuck? I've seen some bad paint before but never just completely missing that large of an area.

Can i ask your help in the topic of "repair your paint chipped masterpiece" i want to open?
Unfortunately the only color match i know is the tamiya lemon yellow for BB.
For wheeljack, i intend the painted wings on the anime color + version.

Sure, but I don't own many MP's, so there's not very many I could vouch for paint matches.

So much for getting just one of the Trainbots :lol

Personally, I feel the MS version looks better the robot mode than the Takara one, but I still like this. The train mode looks amazing in person, and is much bigger than what I was expecting. The transformation is pretty simple (those clear armatures holding onto the face of train worry me). The dreaded side panels weren't too scary to handle (especially since I saw tips here on how to safely handle them), but I can see how some crack them. Aside from the chunk of train hanging off his calves, I like how the robot looks. Initially, I disliked it, but the samurai/shogun comparison have sway I opinion.

At this point I might as well get the remaining four when they come out, I won't be combining them as I dislike how Takara's Raiden looks (going off the prototype), and besides I have MS Raiden.

I ordered Shouki and Getsuei right when they came out and they were delivered roughly around when everyone else got them respectively. However, during that time I wasn't home (was at school since I am a college student), and only now for Thanksgiving break did I have a chance to come home and crack open the figures and have some fun. Overall super happy with both of the figures, but I realized that Shouki is missing a piece on his right side wings (?) that is present on the left side.

I ordered him from AJP but of course, it's way after 30 days since I first received him... so I don't really know what to do. Does anyone have any tips or input on what options I have? Thanks!

Try to ask for a replacement via customer service chat, usually they are helpful! You can do it now, too.

Just gonna throw this out there, the big Pulse sale includes the first two components of MP Raiden.

If you signed up for Premium today and ordered both not only would you get free shipping but the additional savings would pay for the membership and still have an additional $25 left over.

I mean, seriously. It paid for itself in one weekend.

Well not STRICTLY true, because the non premium peeps still got 20% off.

but Premium is worth it to me. I re-upped when the sale started.

Shouki cost me ¥18170 after shipping, which converted to $134.39. in June. Getsuei was ¥16535 after shipping, which converted to $115.26 in September. Total cost was $249.65.

Shouki is $158.99 on Pulse, $168.53 after tax. Getsuei is $140.99, $149.45 with tax. Together that's $317.98. FedEx SmartPost shipping is $6.99. If you got them on sale without a membership, you'd get 20% off but pay for shipping, so it would be $261.37. If you bought the $50 membership just for this, your total would be $288.49 with the 25% off and free shipping. If you already were a member, the total would be $238.49.

In summary, AJP was cheaper than the 20% off sale for non-members and purchasing the membership just for this sale. If you already had Pulse Premium, this sale was a whopping $11.16 cheaper than AJP.

Personally, I think getting the figures at release and spreading out the charges was worth the extra $11. But if you still don't have the figures, it's a very good time to get them thanks to this sale
