Just going off what we've seen so far and some leaked toys, I would be surprised if Soundwave, Starscream, and
    Shockwave
become an alliance of baddies in a second season.

I don't think your wrong but...

I think G.H.O.S.T. will be the actual bad guy of the series with the Decepticons and Mandroid being the red herring. They are setting them up WAY too much for them to not be a baddie. I mean come on, even Megatron doesn't trust them and that should say a lot. I think in the end, it will be an Autobot/Decepticon team up vs G.H.O.S.T. and maybe Mandroid.

Plus with the general vibe of the series, I don't think the ultimate villain will just be Autobots vs Decepticons. They got a few twists coming in the second half and later seasons.

Well we finished it and yep, loved it. The action was the coolest I've seen in a Transformers show. While I love TFP's let's wreck nameless vehicons, you really feel that "they don't want to kill what might be the only remnants of their species."

Plus, Megatron starting to bristle at the way Cons are treated? Excellent excellent stuff!

Is the season worth finishing if you weren't thrilled by the first episode? Does it get better?

For me it did. I like the first episode and I felt like it got better as it went on especially in 8 and 9.

    I concur with:

The show did get better by the time of the last three episodes (which I felt were the best of the ten). I might be a little biased since I liked it enough to stick with it from the start, but that's just sort of what I do. Unless something instantly turns me off from a show early on (pretty hard to do tbh), I'll give everything a chance as long as it can hold my interest. You're not obligated to keep watching if it didn't hook you, so I'd say trust your own judgement.

Given Prime's line about seeing the Terrans as the true human-Transformer alliance and that he's keeping his own secrets from GHOST, I could see maybe the season ending with the Autobots breaking their alliance with GHOST over something and going on the run.

Will Megatron convince with cons that are on the run that aren’t siding with Starscream to help the Autobots?

It's certainly possible. I'm curious to know how the Decepticon plot will play out in the long term, it'd be interesting to see other Decepticons who followed Megatron's change, or at least who can be convinced of a new alliance. After all, going by Nova Storm's dialogue, GHOST itself seems to be the deal breaker for them ("Better than being on GHOST's leash!").

Like I said earlier, there's probably going to be some kind of team up vs GHOST as they have already set it up pretty hard that not all Decepticons are bad and to give them a chance. I think a good number will probably not change sides, but will like you said form a loose alliance to fight a mutual enemy which would be the humans in some way.

I mean yeah, GHOST is a shitbag when even Prime and Megatron doesn't trust them, but at the same time, you have three very powerful bots, Optimus, Elita, and Megatron who I am very surprised would not put their foot down harder for stuff like say dismemberment and dissection of their own kind along with permanent imprisonment.

I am very intrigued to see what fucked up manners of being Shockwave will bring to the table hopefully in the second half.

This show needs more Decepticon collaborators and I hope that happens.

Very much so. They were just trying to lay out a mood and finding their way for a few episodes, then it really gets going.

If this was released as a full season and not just 10 eps, I think it would feel better paced and we'd have more episodes where they were in their groove.

If nothing else, I do like how different the two treat their relationship and distrust of G.H.O.S.T.. With Optimus being the reluctant one trying to keep up both appearances and relationships, while Megatron just flat out openly dislikes them despite his willful partnership with Prime.

Finally finished it. Other than episodes 9 and 10, it was just okay. It's not bad, but it's definitely one of those shows I'm watching more out of obligation than anything. But episodes 9 and 10 were good enough that I'll stick around for the rest of the season. I'm hoping that these are examples of the show planting its footing and not just anomalies. That said ,I've got a a nice mixed bag of positive and negative opinions on it:

    • The art style feels like the 3D renders for building projects that they put out before it gets started. The sky is also in a constant state of bloomy haze that bothers me a lot. It's enough that I'm constantly noticing the weird style choices and it does detract from the overall feel.
    • The animation in episodes 9 and 10 was pretty damn good. I loved the camera work and choreography there. That was seriously some of the best action in any transformers media.
    • I like how threatening/competent the seekers were.
    • Something about Megatron's eye movements really helps him emote. I feel like his voice acting is inconsistent, but I like what they're doing with his character. If they do have him turncoat again, I hope they do the narrative build up well.
    • I'm fine with most of the faces on the show, but Prime's masked face looks even more odd than his mouthy face. It's way too long.
    • I appreciated the nod to nonbinary pronouns. It means a lot to me to see the queer community get some rep in there even when it's something this innocuous. In general I'm liking that there's some diversity in this show. Like, hey, transformers are for everyone. Come on in and join the club.
    • I like Twitch as a character a lot. She reminds me of a pixar character, especially when she's in alt mode.
    • The whole focus on family is too heavy handed. I get it, it's a kids show, but jesus is it cheesy.
    • Alex is too goofy for my tastes. I can't take any scene he's in. Dot and Mo I like though. I don't like human focus in Transformers, but if we're going to have them, Dot and Mo are fine.
    • Some of the humor is decent enough. Can't recall any specific instances, but I remember liking some of the sarcasm from Bee and other instances.
    • Not a fan of Mandroid. He's too cartoonishly evil when you consider the nuance the show has going with Megatron joining the autobots.
    • I'm enjoying this version of Prime. He's got a personality.

For what it's worth, I think he's just gone crazy after getting caught in the middle of a TF battle, losing an arm and barely surviving. It's not unbelievable that he'd become an extremist obsessed with being humanity's "savior," though his maniacal laughter and salvaging parts from bots to enhance himself could imply that, deep down, what happened in San Francisco is just an excuse. Beneath it all, he's just a megalomaniac out for power, regardless of who he has to crush to get it. I don't think he's supposed to be the nuanced human villain, that might end up falling to whatever is going with GHOST.

I echo the sentiment my friend. Exactly how I feel about the show, I agree with every bullet point.

Watching it the other day. Up to episode 8 so far. Very cute. I like the family and Terrans. The other bot voices still feel off. Pundi is good as Bee. This is harmless fun.

i rarely watch the series any more. Never watched the Netflix ones or Cyberverse.

I never buy the "kids" line figures these days. Bought no Cyberverse figures. I bought maybe 4-5 RiD ones like Grimlock, Bludgeon, Drift, Bisk, and maybe 1-2 others. Got a few because of odd figure designs. TF Prime i bought a lot. But this show I will buy the Terrans at least.

so i finally managed to get through all the current eps and as far as my current decision goes, i respectfully think this show just isnt for me. i may check in with it when things seem interesting but i am not dedicating myself to this series outside of the toys. Im certainly not completing writing it off yet but I think it still has quite a few stairs to climb. i respect what it tried to be/do but just think so far it hasnt stuck the landing. my biggest gripe is that hasbro should know by now that a majority of the fanbase doesnt like when there is to much focus on the humans...and their decision was to triple down on that approach; that fact alone had me skimming through most of the eps. Also the TFs for the most part feel one dimensional and about as unimportant as in the bayverse movies. a few of my other major issues are...
    • optimus isnt all that likable a character; like a lot of the returning TF characters, he feels more like the writers just read up a bit on who he was rather than actually knowing.
    • the animation designs of the humans just looks bad and makes those from TFP look advanced.
    • i find every human except Dot annoying and insufferable to watch
    • im fine with making frenzy a female punk type, but whose awful idea was it to give her robot punk hair instead of a normal bot head?
    • mandroid is an uninteresting and unenjoyable villain, and the arachnimechs felt way to endless and powerful
    • the series seems to be sidestepping its whole “war bad so we wont even show it” approach to much
    • its hard to tell if the sketchy side of ghost is ever going to bare satisfying fruit in the future or just be a minor plot devise to engineer friction.

Obviously I will also list some pros it does have...
    • megatron did grow on me as the eps went on, showing he wasn’t a completely changed personality
    • most of the bot design are pretty great(not all)
    • it is a bit refreshing to see some of the IDW influence carried over like a reluctantly repentant megatron, public human awareness if TFs and clearly shaky alliance with the military
    • the terrans are a great new angle of storytelling and both twitch and thrash have fun designs and personalities, with twitch being prob one of my fav characters of the series.
    • the gradual buildup of tension between OP and megs over their ideals and supposed faith in the huma alliance
    • like seeing female skywarp carrying over from cyberverse and possibly becoming a norm
    • soundwave was pretty spot on in portrayal
    • most everything about the finale was pretty impressive
    • nova storms jab at bee in the finale got a genuine laugh out of me
    • hashtag was an immediately enjoyable new character and I really want more of her angry aussie shouting

also since its a point of discussion, thought i would way in. im def happy with the trans/nonbinary representation in nightshade, but it was just not written or presented well, rather than feeling like a fluid character moment it felt like the scene stopped and waved at the audience before continuing with the plot. Glad it was there but could have been done better is all.

how is ghost both the good guys and the bad guys?
and optimus and megatron are both on it but neither have any control but the terrans are transformers but neither optimus or megatron can do anything about it but.....gah
    this show doesnt make sense.
why are mo's eyes twice the size of everyone elses?
it would be one thing if it was a consistent style decision but mo is the only one making it look like she has some kind of chromosome disorder.
