Used the sale to grab Rhino, Hobgoblin and Shocker, so looks like I'm finally getting a jump on my Spider villains

 

FYI - this ebay listing is selling Retro War Machine for $16.47 shipped (confirmed).

The title says 3.75”, but since that doesnt exist, I took the gamble after the seller ignored my message asking whether it was 6”. Got Retro War Machine from this seller yesterday. Already had the deluxe but wanted this to go with Retro Modular Iron Man for my Spidey VHS shelf.

Yeah it’s highly annoying. But stand-alone Mojo IS part of the sale. So weird.

 

Holy shit, does Hasbro legitimately think their sports players figures are worth $50 a piece? What a freaking joke that is. Those figures do not look worth more than $20.

Anyway, nothing at all on sale interests me. They don't even have any army builders on sale this year, which is quite lame.

 

I think it has to do with licensing. Both the teams and the players' likeness.

 

i'm guessing a lot of the extra cost is due to licensing with the players' union plus the shoe manufacturers (in addition to the NBA license) and maybe the NFT too

 

Yikes. I hope no one is actually buying them for that price. I mean even MCu figures don't cost that much despite the likenesses.

 

its a different ballgame though with the movies, where the stars all sign licensing contracts and the players who all have individual deals with shoe sponsors and image rights

 

They have the Hatut Zeraze on the sale. And that’s an army builder. I’m debating it. I guess I want to build Attuma. Maybe they will be less than $18.50 eventually.

Im definitely waiting on Ross though. I won’t buy him until he’s dirt cheap.

Aka his best suit. The simplicity was great - I was never big on all the neon glowing line suits.

 

Its funny, my mom and I were rewatching Black Panther one night and we discussed and both agreed that every subsequent suit was a downgrade, and I mean all of them. T'Chaka's suit being the best, followed by the Civil War BP suit, then the Purple one, then Killmonger's costume, with Shuri's new suit sitting at the bottom of the totem poll.

I just love how hard this suit leans into the African influence, it's so cool.

 

Used the sale to get Morph for $21 (a much more palatable price than $28) and a second Quake so I can have a Maria Hill (she came down to $18). Everything else that's on sale I either picked up at full price or a sale/discount somewhere else.

 

No discount for any of the figures I'm missing, some are either still on preorder status or just not at a discount at all.

 

Yeah, Mojo is the only one I need and I am still conflicted by that box set. There’s no way that thing is selling well since it came out AFTER the standalone Mojo. I will probably just wait it out for a sale on the box set.
