I actually like this Airazor better but I might get both birds to go with the other two.

This Battletrap design is really badass. I like the little touch of Bulkhead with the mace there. It reminds me of the HFTD era where there were a bunch of new bots with a movie inspired look but most didn't have nearly as much of a "mashed up" look as the official movie designs. Can easily see this guy riding alongside Crankstart.

That Airrazor is pretty awful looking compared to the other one, though. The engineering on that one made a much sleeker bird mode than the reused Kingdom stuff we're seeing here. Interesting how her face is completely different and smoother on the other one. Makes me cross my fingers for a Nightbird being done in the more cartoony style as the other Airrazor... a cartoon femcon with that alt mode, oh yes.

Exactly—if they didn’t care about the fans, they wouldn’t be revisiting Beast Wars in the first place.

While Battletrap is still my boy, he is overall a nobody. By your thinking characters like Knockout, Bulkhead, and like 2/3 of the idw cast wouldn't exist.

Shared engineering yes, but not a “minor retool”. Literally every part of this figure is new. Zero shared parts.

Everything is different about them, I think they are different characters, this new one looks like a male, not from the body, from the face. And both of these look complex enough for deluxe.

Battletrap looks great! I just wish they went with a different name. They've been doing so much better about not name-slapping in recent years but the Terrorcons in this movie seem to be going back to those old bad habits. Very strange there seem to be 2 Airazors. Looking at the 2 together I get serious Hawkman and Hawkgirl vibes. Very curious as they share similar design cues and color scheme but the first one was definitely more feminine while this one is more masculine looking. The first one we got definitely isn't an unrevealed Earthspark design, for one it's too detailed and it's too high quality and actually looks to be pretty solid as opposed to the Earthspark deluxes that are all super thin plastic and lightweight. Maybe this new one is a different character that has a brief appearance before getting killed off in the beginning or something? Idk.

These are not the same character, no way.

Wouldn't complain if he has something to do with traps in the movie. The bear-trap kind of trap, not the Astolfo kind of trap.

airazor definitely sells the "steampunk" aesthetic that those who saw the previews a long while back described

Might be an odd theory, but maybe the previous one is a younger version of Airazor? Maybe there might be flashbacks when the Maximals first arrived on Earth?

Do some folks seriously believe these two Airazor's aren't the same character? I'm 99% sure they are. They look a bit different but I'm sure once we know more about the designs in the film it'll make more sense.

:lolol  :lolol  Crazy whacko who leaves various animal-catching traps.

Those Airazor designs are completely different, it can't be a case of "well one is just the budget friendly version" because they're not even remotely the same design.

maybe the Maximals have multiple forms? Maybe they start out in their very robotic transmetal style forms and then get more traditional "organic" forms later on in the movie?
