It's going to be absolutely devastating when the 30th anniversary special that's coming inevitably has a "Dedicated to Thuy Trang and Jason David Frank" card. It was gonna be the first Power Rangers thing I've properly watched in years regardless, but the second I see that I'm gonna be breaking down into tears. Hoping the episode itself bears some sort of honor to them as well, even beyond knowing they're giving Trini a daughter.

 

First Kevin Conroy and now this! I\'m not even a Power Rangers fan and this is devastating to hear.

Oh someone posted about this in my local fan page. JDF was announced to attend Comic Con Paraguay this November 25, 26 and 27. This was so sudden and unfortunate. Still shocked. I toally regret not having time to meet him when he came to Lima, Peru some years ago.

 

I didn't "grow up" watching Power Rangers as I was already a Senior in High School when it started, but I did watch it since the first episode and the Green With Evil arch just solidified the Green Ranger & his Dragonzord as my favorite!
I got to meet JDF a couple times (most recently a couple months ago) and he was always so warm, generous, kind, and funny to everyone in his line. He was well known for not taking lunches or breaks and staying as late as humanly possible just so every person that was in his line got to meet him.
I now feel lucky and blessed that my gf also got to meet him this past summer. While she isn't a huge PR fan, he was excited that I was meeting my hero again.
We truly don't know the inner demons people struggle with. Even those who seem to "have it all."
He will sorely be missed.
RIP Jason David Frank.

That's pretty cool that the OG Green Ranger tipped his hat.

 

It still feels unreal. I'm a 90s kid so JDF played a big part in making my childhood awesome. The Green Ranger was always my favorite because he was so cool even when he was getting his butt kicked by putties.

I even got a few Legacy items like the helmet, communicator, Dragon Dagger, and morpher.

I just find it hard to accept he killed himself. He was loved by millions of fans and seemed so full of life but the same could be said for Robin Williams too. First Kevin Conroy and now JDF, talk about a 1-2 gut punch.

Ok, Amy Jo just absolutely broke my heart. I have a rule.....nobody cries alone. I barely made it through Austin St. John's video without a few tears, I was bawling 15 seconds into Amy Jo's. She was so devestated.

It's ok to get help when you break an arm, it's also ok to get help when you break a heart. If you feel like you need help, PLEASE reach out to anyone and everyone. Please don't feel like you're too manly to get counseling.

Yeah. The opening just hit me like a ton of bricks, but I figure how bad it's gotta be for her and how much she's hurting. I wanted to close it, but I felt it'd be disrespectful to her and Jason. I offer you a comforting hug, for what it's worth.

 

Man this hurts and sucks. I grew up on the original rangers and he was one of my favorites behind the red ranger at the time. As a fellow who suffers from depression since 2015 after a family tragedy, it really makes you wonder about things. Once you have depression does it ever go away or do we all meet the same fate at some point and lose to depression. My condolences to the family as they go through this traumatic event. I remember people telling me things get easier with time but the truth is it never does.

 

I to suffer from depression as well and have been doing so for a decade. It’s an incredibly terrible feeling and a serious issue for a lot of people. It upsets me that this happened to JDF.

 

Agreed. It’s not something one can just be cured of though. Keep on fighting the good fight
