What’s wrong with Thunderwing? Marvel Thunderwing was a Matrix bearer, not IDW.

Anyone else ended up with the leg rotation mushroom becoming so insanely tight that I feared that it would break (one side so bad that I could barely rotate it, while that the other was a bit better but still scary). We're talking that I'd have gaps opening on the thigh parts as it would push open against the screw as I tried turning it (and it wouldn't).

I tried to disassemble but ended up finding that parts are glued and pinned in a way that it wasn't happening.

But that said, I did eventually managed to get it moving a bit (bit by bit) and then put a few drops of silicon oil (plastic safe) and work it until it finally could move again in a non-scary way. The oil is what really saved the situation.

As long as this thread is bumped, I find it really strange that I never saw anyone make a grey crown piece to replace the purple one for better comic/toy accuracy

Purple crown looks better, imo. Color break up can help a look out.

That's the main reason I didn't buy this. The crown shape is just as important to my nostalgia of the toy as the colors are. (talking about the simple full circular Rook crown design)

I still can’t believe no one did it.. to me, it seemed like a no-brained for DNA when they did their set…

I can't believe that, when deciding on the part layouts, Hasbro decided the crown pieces shoulda been on two different sprues...

They probably wanted the pointy bits to be nylon or whatever more-flexible but unpaintable plastic, but there was only gonna be one sprue of that material, meaning it would all be that color.

Also, I did paint the crown, using Testor’s Flat Light Aircraft Grey spraypaint based on what David Willis did with his. It wasn’t a 100% match, but it certainly did the job. I later on got a custom, more Geoff Senior-styled head for it so I’d need to dig out my original for pictures.
