Spindrift’s backside is NOT toon accurate. Theory debunked. You can’t pick and choose what sides of a character or what mode the character is in to determine “full toon”. Full toon means from ALL angles in bot and vehicle mode, and in full blown toon colours. I shouldn’t have to explain that to you  

 

What kind of nonsense are you babbling here? The backside of any TF is going to be a tossup due to engineering the transformation. You can't possibly believe anyone thinks you have any kind of useful or valid point here. LOL

 

Looking infinitely better now that hideously ugly gold is gone, but the the face tho......!? Anyway they listened, I'm glad, it seems they also changed the shins/legs to the right colour scheme and not everything being black as they were before. Looks a lot better and will be placing my PO but man, that face? I thought those kinds of faces were a thing of the past for FT.

 

The toy head is, as always, much better and much more interesting than the cartoon head. However, the white used for it is horrible. Give the man the silver he deserves.

mp bumblebee 2.0 is "full toon" despite it having a backpack that bumblebee didn't have. do you not understand that toon is a style not a level of achievement?

 

Looks MUCH better. Yellow chest means a purchase from me now for sure. Dark gray limbs are a bonus.

Don't really know why that gold chrome was ever considered.

They look metallic gray to me. But why should they be chrome? The toy was gray, the toon was gray, comic was gray. They should be the same color as his body, regardless of which source you're going with.

I'm glad FT listened to feedback and made the change. I'd did jump on DS for that great fire-sale price, and he looks great in my collection. I'll be keeping my pre-order until reviews come out and make a decision then.

FT has never been about being specifically accurate to any source, and will often 'plus up' finishes where they feel it makes the product more visually interesting.

Chroming the buttons, which is something that many tape decks had, seems like an appropriate detail to add...especially since it will also match Acoustic Wave.

Eh, I pretty strongly disagree with this. It's pretty easy to see where their sources are.

Sure, with metallic colors, occasionally a clear color, instead of opaque. But when was the last time they used chrome where it didn't exist on any source material?

But why would they need to match? Nothing on them does?

Regardless, those are all good reasons why the chrome buttons would be a good choice. But not why they should be chrome.

 

I liked the gold it separated itself from DS but ill buy it anyway.

 

BBTS put the tapes up 2, it looks like it is the set of 3, no Rewind. He must come with Blaster.

 

Just my luck, I've been waiting since July for preorders to go up, and on one of the few days I can't check early they finally go up and TCP sold out on 3 of 4 before I got on. I've got preorders for all 4, but it is annoying trying to remember which store what is preordered at.

As for Rewind I'm expecting Blaster's box to come with the contents in this image with relevant paint changes.

Looks like deformation space now. Should have done both gold and a yellow tbh. But it looks much nicer now and I've no doubt a lot of people will now get this
