I saw that damn pack 1 time at Walmart and didn’t jump on it. Went back the next day and it was gone. I honestly don’t need it, sparkless bots really have no place in my collection plans, and my bots are at about 85% of display space capacity, but it still annoys me every time I see something from that set.

Yeah that was what I was thinking as well, "small Voyager" Metalhawk reimagined as an Earth-mode fighter jet!
If it's the IDW incarnation, I could easily see it happening.

 

If Darkwing is a retool of Needlenose, and Dreadwind is a retool of Metalhawk, then hopefully Metalhawk is the same size as Needlenose here.

 

They're unavoidable due to the transformation - althought I'm sure some 3P upgrade company will give us a pair of hinged covers that sit flat under his alt-mode when open.

It's a shame they couldn't just give him a Voyager slot in order to fill in the empty bits and fix his back.

I'm way happier with the g1 style targetmasters than the shitty oversized crap siege battlemasters. Who gives a shit if the siege TM were more posable? To do what? Other than look stupid when held by any deluxe.

Man, Needlenose came out really nicely.

 

I kinda wish he had compared him next to Starscream in vehicle mode. I would have liked to see how a deluxe jet compares to a voyager. Oh well, I’m sure someone will do it at some point. I’m still on the fence about getting him. Maybe if I see him in stores, I’ll pick him up.

 

If this is a pretool for dreadwind I'm disappointed. They need to be voyagers. We already two deluxes.

 

Needlenose is overall good hes the only one in wave 1 i actually want. But a part of me thinks that he shouldve just came with regular guns like spinister.

He's a good, if unambitious figure. But he's based on a figure from an era where the toys were quite simplistic. He does what he needs to, without massive compromise.

 

No, it's not. And I legitimately don't understand why this misinformation keeps getting passed around as fact.

If you separate Pointblank's targetmaster into its component parts, it is made up of three pieces. That's all. That is the exact same number of parts allocated to accessories that around half of Legacy deluxes have, like Skids, Kickback, and Elita-1. And it's less than Arcee or Skullgrin. Hell, it's less than the amount accessory parts that Needlenose here has - five (two for each targetmaster, one for the tailfin).

The only impact the targetmaster would have on Pointblank's budget that would make it different than the other deluxes is preventing him from coming with his spoiler-shield. Which is exactly what Mark confirmed, as I recall.
