    Got my girl!

She does not disappoint! Solid, sturdy, Probably one of my top 3 "bendy"robots, her articulation is simply amazing. Surprising how stable and able to stand so well.

I swear every time she topples over, even mildly, she earns a new paint chip! I love this figure but the paint on her is one of the weakest I've seen!

Luckily she only has some details painted and such small issues are easily fixable with some gundam markers :p

I took this a while ago, not very good for comparison, but I think they're a pretty good pair.

Thank you for the answer, and sorry to push it onto you, but do you have any idea on how much time it would take to have a more definitive answer on what MMC will decide to provide ? Since Optus Prominon is supposed to be out soon, and depending on MMC's answer and the time it takes them to give us said answer, I'll cancel my order. I totally understand people being happy with the info we've got, but I can't bring myself to give MMC more money until this issue has been resolved.

I really can't say. It's a complex issue, that involves creating new tooling for just the head (rather than that plus all the shared parts on the same sprue) and then seeing how it will be distributed. It will take a few months at the very least. If it helps, we're keeping a close eye on things to make sure this doesn't happen again.

If you guys are tooling a new mold just to be able to "make smirking faces without making all the other parts"---any chance you could run a smirking head, but with the original release's colors? Could then sell them off to owners of the original, and help recoup some costs. I would totally buy an alternate face for my first-release, even though I like the one it has already.

What about just fixing the stencil for the paint? I have no issues for a non-smirking face at all, the "smudge" lipstick isn't a bit thing for me as it's hardly noticeable, but wouldn't that be a simpler solution for now?

Thanks for the information, I will need a bit of time to think it through.

Since it would probably mean making a new mold for the first head, it would probably cost pretty much the same, and to me at the very least, isn't a good solution.

Why would they have to make a new mold? I'm saying that they can use the head that they have now and just change the paint application.. depending on their technique of either a stencil or a stamp process, that's all that would be needed.

The info is on RDVA's reply, the tooling for the head may exist, but it's not alone on the mold, which means that either of the head would need a new mold. New figures could always have rectified paint applications, but that wouldn't fix the problem for already existing copies.

I was under the impression that it was possible to gate off a mold so as to avoid molding unwanted parts. Is that not an option?
