The actual G2 figure used a fair amount of gold and not a lot of blue. It even had a gold checker pattern on the doors. And had no Decepticon logo, I think.

This is pretty accurate to the vintage toy.

 

Same. Just wish the whole two layer thing to her face just have the black part of the eyes than taking that and her cheeks!
I may picked her up (already have Decepticon Mirage) if she ever arrived in UK retails.

You're mistaken about both there not being a lot of blue and no Decepticon logo. I will cite several different samples, loose and carded:

Note the G2 'con logo on the splitter (the wing on the front of the car):



Note the purple G2 'con logo on the left side of the cockpit with text to further highlight it:


Note in bot mode how that purple 'Con logo is on his chest on the right side, and the blue paint is on his chest on the left side:


These deco designs appear on other carded samples which have the more refined deco on the front of the cockpit and the spoiler, the spoiler may be a sticker but either way it would have shown up as the feet in robot mode:

Again, straight from this same site, this is an earlier prototype without the wet flame pattern on the front of the cockpit or wing deco, but still has more blue and that 'con logo in both modes:

Shadowstrip is a stupid concept. It's G2 Drag Strip. Why are we needlessly complicating this? I feel like we are regressing with this current team in some aspects. You want a new character, create a new deco.

I also have serious concerns about getting a G2 set.

 

New characters sell better than pre-existing ones in new colour schemes. Are you going to buy Starscream (Night Flight Livery), or Seeker Blackout? Plus, well, making new characters from old decos makes them better sellers. See how much aftermarket value on that yellow RID Optimus absolutely jumped once Yellow Splendid Convoy became a thing

But if you don't like it, go for the middle ground: After vanishing in an explosion, Drag Strip was thought dead (which many were happy at due to his Many Crimes). But now, the mysterious Racer X Shadowstrip has shown up to compete in races. Races Drag Strip was banned from due to his aformentioned many crimes

 

Those two look great. I wonder how many more of the G2 Stunticons will be released in Legacy?

Though, on an unrelated side note: Today is my 3rd Year of being a member of the TFW2005 Board. Thus, I think I joined around 2019, when Siege was still putting out stuff. My first post was about Siege Codes.

 

Why are we blowing fuses about names? You know it's G2 Dragstrip, anyone who knows, knows it's G2 Dragstrip. So Hasbro is calling him "Shadowstrip." Who the fuck actually cares, or are people just wired to constantly bitch like their life is dependent on being whiny?

He's G2 Dragstrip to me, no matter what Hasbro put on the box. I dumped that box in the recycle bin after opening him up so that name is just out of my head. I don't see why anyone gets their guts in a twist about this. Call the doctor about a potential chronic need to bitch syndrome.

 

Just confirm or hint more g2 stunticons most of us are willing to doubledip even if Brakedown looks kinda sucktacular with his boomerang spoiler.

 

I think the unexpected Deathsaurus reveal combined with the unknown status of a full G2 Stunticons team has me passing on this...

New character = purchase
G2 variant = pass

You can always call him G2 Drag Strip, but if Hasbro had done it, we wouldn’t have a new official character added to the canon.

 

I prefer Shadowstrip as a new character. And since he doesn't have a faction symbol anywhere but the box, that opens him to be another merc for me.

I bloody wish they were. Still haven't seen a single Crasher at my end, and given the absolute lack of Cosmos in Australia at all...

Same with folks who get bent about "Slug."

 

The difference is that Slug is just Slag renamed for trademark purposes. This is making a whole new character, which adds to the mythos.

 

I hope these start popping up in stores soon, I have a Walmart gift card with Shadowstrip's name on it.

This might be a bit blasphemous to say, but I would be okay if this was the only G2 Stunticon we got. I love G2, but I've never been that big of a Menasor fan, so I could take it or leave it if we got the whole team. If Velocitron continues though, I could see a few more of them showing up there.

 

Same, but primarily because I have a soft spot for Dragstrip. He was the only Stunticon I had as a kid!
