Yea, I never completed the Riddler stuff in any of the Arkham games. The closest thing to those in this game is probably the batarangs, but there's not really puzzles you have to solve to get them, just gotta find them. And I feel like they definitely took some cues from Spider-Man

Sounds like a promising pseudo follow up to Arkham Knight. Heck this game sounds better then the upcoming Suicide Squad from Rocksteady.

I've really enjoyed it. Personally, I think people hold the Arkham games on a pedestal and forget just how bad some of them were at launch, especially Arkham Knight. I certainly hope we get story DLC and a sequel or 2 because I'm definitely hooked.

Agreed, Arkham Knight is such a buggy mess. It improved with patches and dlc though, but it was buggy as hell upon launch. Gotham Knights seems to be selling well, I hope we get dlc stories or an expansion like AK.

It's still in the top 50 sellers on Steam 3 weeks in, so that's good considering how much is on Steam

Good, good. To be Frank, I’d rather play as members of the Bat family then anyone from Suicide Squad. I’m sure the game will be okay though, but it’s a preference.

Same. Granted I still want to play Suicide Squad and the upcoming Wonder Woman game (provided it's an action game) but I don't think either will dethrone Gotham Knights for me.

Just nothing of what they shown so far looks appealing. I’m interested in what Monolith can do with Wonder Woman though.

I'm curious enough to try out Suicide Squad, but I think that a lot of people are either gonna realize that Rocksteady isn't the end all be all studio they think it is or they'll pretend that Suicide Squad is significantly better than it ends up being. Either way I do expect a sufficiently fun, if average shooter out of it.

Well, I'm on the final case file for Gotham Knights! passed the 44 hours mark, so I'm gonna guess that it'll come in around 47-48 hours if I ignore any additional challenge missions (though I do need to kill 3 more bad guys with my nest ability to get my last momentun ability unlocked. Not a bad length for a game that doesn't have any story DLC yet considering Spider-Man Remastered took me about 41 hours including the DLC.

Are there any tricks to getting Gotham's Most Wanted missions to spawn? I've got to the final (I think) story mission, but want to craft some legendary gear before tackling it; apparently the best place to get the exotic materials for this are the GMW, but I've yet to see one :(

Not that I know of. Only thing I've really read is that they only spawn in Hard and Very Hard premeditated crimes. Though you don't have to take out most wanted to get Legendary gear, I'm pretty sure you can just get it from Hard and Very Hard crimes since I've got a full loadout of Legendary gear and I think I've only taken out 1 most wanted.

Beat the game tonight and honestly, it's easily a 9/10 for me. Story and voice acting were good, played it entirely on my Steam Deck locked at 30fps and everything ran fairly smoothly on mostly high settings and it was characters in the Bat Family that I prefer over Batman himself. I liked the change of focus and the passing of the torch on several fronts in the game. My negatives against the game would be poor optimization, while the game did run fairly smoothly, I did get occasional freezes and crashes (though their frequency did decrease after the initial 2 patches) and I wish there were a few more villains to tackle in the game like Twoface or Catwoman. Overall it took me about 46 hours and I didn't complete every challenge or anything like that, just took my time and enjoyed the game.

My recommendation to anyone considering the game is this, the game may superficially seem like a springboard from Arkham Knight, but it's really not. If you go in expecting a sequel or a 1:1 copy of the Arkham gameplay you'll be disappointed, however there is a legitimately good game here that got needlessly crapped on prior to release and then several youtube personalities jumped on the bandwagon.

For me, the game was well worth what I payed for it.

Curious... What did you pay for it?

I have the PS5 and want to get this game, but $78 is too much. I'm hoping for a Black Friday sale in a few weeks.

I paid full price for the deluxe edition on Steam, so $80. Wanted the extra skins that come in the visionary pack.

I'm glad you enjoyed it and thought you got value for money, it's more of a wait for some optimisation patches and a sale for me, as I lack any serious emotional investment in the subject matter, I would be playing it entirely for the game play which doesn't have enough Mission variety for me to want to spend to much on it.

To me it sits somewhere below Watchdogs and above Saints Row. & I don't exactly hold watch dogs in very high esteem. But the plot isn't as bad as Far Cry 6 at least.

But yes people will judge it negatively against Arkham. since they were trying to ride it's coat tails in marketing terms, and well I do feel a bit sorry that it keeps comming of worse in comparisons as much as it does.

So trying to be fair to it and judge it only on it's own terms, it's a reasonable enough action games I guess. & One I think I'd prefer to Avengers, which looked so tediuous I never even bothered with it at all.

I'll hapilly buy Gotham Knights once the all DLC included version is on heavy sale though, even if only as a genre piece & I might as well since I usually buy most "Batman" games (if one considers a game set in Gotham as a Batman game). But neither am I going to be gushing about it either.

It's just a mid tier rank videogame to me, one i'd be happier with in proportion to the price I eventually pay for it, Or maybe it will be something I can play via a subscription at some point. But it does seems like a game I would only play the once mind. But I have a soft spot for Batgirl so I'll get around to it eventually perhaps.

I'm still looking forward to this, but I will say I enjoyed (most of) the Riddler stuff. Sad to see it go.

Personally, I was glad to see that WB Montreal didn't shoe horn that into the game. Including Riddler would have been cool, but only if they did something different rather than scattering dozens of collectibles on the map. Riddler challenges were 1 thing I never liked in the Arkham series.

50% off on Steam right now.
Save 50% on Gotham Knights on Steam
Kinda huge discount for a game that's barely 3 months old. Usually it's something like 10-15%. But at least now it feels worth paying for.
