Your wasting your time, Bellpeppers. All epoch know how to do in an arguement is dunk on other people and act like anyone who doesn’t agree with them is stupid, and put them down by all but calling them stupid or “lesser”. All your going to get by continuing with them is a condescending tone and insults to your intelligence.

My dissatisfaction is similar to @bellpeppers , from a more basic, non fandom direction: I know what Hasbro can deliver at X price in various product lines, so why are these so basic and cheaply constructed? Shouldn't they be much less expensive, given how simple the vehicles are, and how hollow and simple the robots are? And if they are going to be $70 to $90, shouldn't we demand more for our money?

    Absolutely.

They are charging for a Porsche while delivering a Beetle.

This is kinda how I feel about it too.

Every figure is going to have compromises. And I understand turning into a perfect replica of a Joe vehicle in that scale will lead to compromises, and I understand more parts count and engineering will lead to higher prices, but these figures are lacking.

I understand some are just fine to finally have long dreamed GI JoexTransformers we all have dreamed of. But I dreamed of something with higher quality and engineering.

At the massive size these figures are, there is no reason why they should less articulation then some $25 deluxe figures. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to hate on them, and I am happy they exist and I am happy others are enjoying them. I think most of us just expected a level of Generations quality upscaled to a 3 & 3/4” scale.

My guess is that either the production run may be smaller compared to mainline Transformers and/or Hasbro is cashing in on ARAH’s 40th anniversary(perhaps rushed to be released during this year too for the anniversary). I think it was mentioned earlier that Takara assisted somewhat with the designs and that makes the end result even more surprising as one could objectively expect more.

YMMV for these toys. Those that seem to like them accept the compromised robot modes for the interactivity with the 3.75 joes in figure mode. If you can’t look past the compromise for robot mode, I can see why it would be a hard choice to justify paying the MSRP.

I love the idea on paper and it’s true this is a crossover many didn’t expect to be done this way. I can’t help but expect more.

I’m happy for those who are happy… but it’s not exactly sending a good message to Hasbro

    Titans exist.

OK, Megatron's articulation is a little lacking but Bumblebee has all the same articulation as a deluxe with the exception of ankle tilts.

Titan figures: Fort Max, Metroplex, etc. are way larger than these figures and still built better.

There’s no reason for these to suffer in the engineering department. I was trying to back up your statement.

I meant (and fixed) to say “back” up the statement, not “hack” up the statement.
We are indeed on the same page. I was just using the existence of really large figures to support it.

    But with a typo.

They're FAR better vehicles than bots. FAR better. And that's the thing. Over the last couple official waves of mainline figures we've consistently seen and received better transforming figures. We've seen an effort to combat "The Hollow" and an eagerness to avoid the overall delivered package looking or feeling like less despite the budgetary constraints the designers are unfortunately handcuffed to. Even if they didn't fully pull it off, we could see the effort. For being transformers, these don't measure up to those established baselines. That's the disappointment.

That said I totally get why people like or even love them, but I think that's definitely more attributable to the vehicle mode than it being a transformer.

oh yeah, as down as I am on the 'bot modes, the alt modes are essentially perfect (I didn't like how much Megatron grey was showing up on the HISS or BB's chest on the back of the AWE, but still...) Just wish they'd gone a little deeper on the engineering so the quality of the bot modes could match. I mean, that BB head sculpt is just inexcusable IMHO (and kind of odd, in that aesthetically it's so different from Megatron's, who's frankly pretty great in that regard.)

Just got my bumblebee striker toy. The robot mode is hard to keep tabbed together. And he was a pain to transform and stay tabbed while doing so. But just like Megatron, the vehicle mode is great as a Joe vehicle. No partsforming either. Overall a much better end result than Megatron. I’m not sure why he comes with Stalker. Being a casual Joe fan I have no attachment to the character. At first I thought he was the original figure that came with the striker, but a quick google search says otherwise. IMO he’s a very standard looking generic military figure. Maybe that’s why? Anybody out there know why they chose him? I would’ve expected a more prominent character for the crossover, like roadblock, or dusty since bee is a dune buggy

Not sure why they included him, just about as weird as the Baroness with the HISS, but Stalker's arguably a more prominent character then Dusty – Roadblock might edge him out? I dunno, I was a Joe comic guy and Stalker was one of the main guys all the way through (him, Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow served in 'Nam together in the original stories)

Oh wow. The side by side pics do a great job showing how well they hit on copying the original Striker toy.

But....that seemed to be the point.

They're GI Joe toys first, Transformers second. They've absolutely nailed the Joe vehicle aspect and then leaned in to the retro nature of those to produce something that looked like it jumped right out of the 80s.

Very similar to Tonkanator in that regard.
