Hi all, just a few questions.

    1. Are there any outstanding QC issues or big missteps with this guy?
    2. How has he held up?
    3. Could I get comparison pictures with MMC’s Hot Rod, Kingdom Rodimus and anything else in an IDW collection?
    Thanks so much all!

    1. The shoulders on the normal release are almost frighteningly squeaky and tight. I don't have stress marks or anything, so I'm not too worried. The Lost Light version fixes the tolerances a bit, but the shoulders are almost too loose with my copy. It may just be because my LL version was previously owned, so take that for what you will. The hands are also a point of contention, as the normal release can barely hold its own gun. Again, the LL version fixes that as well. The transformation is also fiddly as hell.

    2. Despite its flaws, it's one of my favorite 3P figures. But that's a bit skewed by my love of the character and design.

    3. Unfortunately, most of the collection is in storage at my family's home so I can't take any pictures, but he's Voyager sized. Almost exactly the same size as MMC's Calidus/Exitus (the scale was how I was able to justify getting Exitus in the first place) and scales well with MMC's other IDW figures. He also looks pretty good with T30 Brainstorm.

my two copies (both versions) have held up great. No real “QC” issues; just a few questionable design choices (the aforementioned hands are horrible).

But he’s the best version of MTMTE Rodimus we’ll probably ever get; he looks awesome (better than Calidus, IMO). Transformation is fiddly, but it works. Alt mode is just ok. He poses like a champ.

Thank you both! The reason I asked for pictures is because I want to visually compare the three Rodimii (?) I mentioned to make my decision, but this was insightful nonetheless.

As many Rodimii as I could find. I don’t own Kingdom Rods, and couldn’t find my pic of him with MMC Getaway.

I'm a big fan of the Toyhax set. I don't think he looks bad without it, but after having the figure with the extra stickers, any time I see one without it, it looks a bit too plain for me.

Also @IronPrime2169 here's a link to a post I did earlier in the thread with MMC's Getaway.

    1. My LL figure was previously owned too and I don't have any of the shoulder issues. The original release (red) had really wonky hands that the LL version fixed, but I still don't like the hand design.

    2. Spot on. The best looking MTMTE Rodimus robot mode out there. However, the transformation sucks. MMC wins there. The Flame Toys model is nice too, but too short for my other IDW stuff.

    3. Also agree. I bought the LL version when MMC announced their Getaway, and the shelf presence that this mold has is just so much fun. Literally like the Nick Roche design and the Jack Lawrence design stepped off the page. The MMC version is a bit closer to what Alex Milne's design ended up being, I think, but definitely loses some of the comic proportions to allow for a much better transformation/vehicle mode. If you want the Alex Milne design in physical form, get the Flame Toys model.
