No. His identity was erased from everyone's mind. Not that Spider-Man himself existed. I'll be surprised if Scott dies. Unless Rudd wants out I don't really see that happening.
Seriously, doesn't Marvel like, own at least most of the things that were created specifically for the Marvel run of Micronauts? They can't use Bug, James Gunn already said that, but what Commander Rann? The Body Banks? Marionette? Micronauts specific things like Baron Karza, Acroyear and Biotron would have to be replaced, sure, and they wouldn't be able to call Rann the Space Glider, but what's actually stopping them from using the things that were created for that run? I mean if you ask me it was a mistake for the old Micronauts run to be apart of the Marvel universe in the first place, what with it being made on a license and thus always being on borrowed time at Marvel, but still. I don't doubt that those comics were good. I just don't understand the logic of making something you don't actually own and won't have access to forever such a major part of the universe. Kind of spoiled any potential the Micronauts could have as a franchise beyond Marvel forever, I think. Either way, Disney obviously just doesn't care to put in the effort to acquire the license. They also might not have the money to spare (or maybe they do, I dunno).
Looks like Murray is playing Krylar. Basically a one issue debuting nobody. Who is Marvel Comics' Krylar? Rumors resurface as Bill Murray confirms villainous role in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
Actually it was Peter Parker who was wiped from existence. That's why his friends no longer recognized him. It does, for some reason, have a feel of Lang dying, but I'd be very surprised if so.
I guess I can always go back and watch, but I thought Peter was not only wiped from memories, but also Spider Man. No more Avengers. Which is why he is going back to his hand made costume. Because Peter is wiped, therefore Spider is wiped and no longer has the Stark mech suit. I guess when Peter is wiped, his Avenger Spider Man was also wiped by default. Im on my phone when I should be working. I can’t articulate.
Awareness of Peter Parker is what was erased. In the aftermath, people are still aware of Spider-Man, they just don't know who's in the suit.
From what is said marvel does own some of the micronuts (renamed microns) in the comics. They can use the ones they own like Marionette and bug in the comics all they want but hasbro still has co rights to movies, cartoons, toys, etc and marvel would have to share money and even have to get the ok from hasbro to even use them! Bug was planned for gotg than cut over this. This is clearly micron city with i bet a new name but kang is replacing baron in the story.
But there is no more suit. Did the Stark suits ever exist at this point? Did nobody ask “hey- who was that masked man?”. I guess retroactively awareness of Peter was erased, and the only one who knew his identity (Tony) died. Or is this just a plot hole to live with?
People forgot Peter period, not just that he was spider man. He’s having to take a GED at the end of the film because his school doesn’t have a record of him. He basically has to create a new life, even people who knew him since childhood don’t remember him now.
They showed in NWH that he no longer had access to the Stark technology network (no facial recognition when he was looking for the college admissions woman) - not much point him still using a suit that's largely disabled. He also may not have been able to replenish busted / lost nanobots without access to Stark tech (although that's just speculation on my part - I don't think they specified that in the film). People are very definitely still aware of Spider-Man - Peter and Happy each said they knew May through him at the cemetery, Jameson was still banging on about him in the closing scenes, Strange mentioned him in MoM and the guy in the Quantumania trailer called Scott Spider-Man. Pretty clear that the world still remembers Spidey, just not who is behind the mask.
He dropped the Iron Spider suit because Ock wrecked it. There was only enough left to make that gold spider emblem he wore during the final fight. It was all memory of Peter Parker got wiped, but the Avengers still know Spider Man. Strange remembers and mentions multiverse trouble with spiderman in multiverse of madness. They just don't know who he is. His existence wasn't wiped, just knowledge of peter parker was wiped. Spiderman still physically exists in the world and people still know him. As for why the homemade suit instead of the two stark suits, maybe he wanted to go back to basics and have a suit that he could repair on his own? Or he lost access to the homecoming suit because damage control confiscated it and the ffh suit is too advanced for him to repair with no help or resources? Though I'm sure he cannibalised the moving eye lenses from it.
So they got Bill Murray to play... a guy who only ever appeared in one issue of the Hulk and died in the same issue? He was not even the main villain of said issue. Krylar (Earth-616) | Marvel Database | Fandom Incredible Hulk Vol 1 156 | Marvel Database | Fandom I think Peter Parker is the one who got removed from everyone's mind, not Spiderman. It's bad enough we never saw Hank Pym being Ant-Man (other than in What If...?) but now Scott is getting replaced too? He has barely been around, had 2 movies and a few crossovers. It's annoying that again, it seems the Microverse is mostly populated by humans. I mean, I was annoyed enough that Guardians of the Galaxy or Thor Ragnarok, while it could have used any of the cool alien races from the comics, barely did so and just had humans everywhere (or sometimes humans with blue or gold skins) but now this too? Does this mean a lot of people invented the Pym particle before Hank and went in there? What's Kang even doing at subatomic levels? He is supposed to come from the very, very distant future. But hey, at least they fixed his design, now he is blue like he should be and has his classic clothes and flying disk. (Edit: never mind, seems that's just a mask he puts on?) Also, hey Kang, Age of Wonders: Planetfall called, the VoidTech company want their Rift Generators back from loan. Dang, really? So those redesigned Ten Rings are just on loan from Kang? Dammit... I wanted Fin Fang Foom and super-advanced Dragon-people.
So Hank’s wife has been in the quantum realm all these decades and comes back with powers. She gives Hank volumes of info about the quantum realm. But there’s one thing she never mentioned… Gee… would that be all the bad guys down there? Why not divulge that? Because we needed a plot for a future film? So here’s what’s gonna happen: Cassie’s suit gets destroyed and so Scott sacrifices himself so that Cassie can get his suit to escape. Scott is either dead or gone into the quantum realm, never to return. Either way Scott is gone. Cassie joins The Wasp. Good by yellow brick road indeed.
Well, I seriously doubt Bill Murray is going to stay around for more than one film. I feel like he’s the kind of special guest star actor who’s gonna dip after one movie, maybe get lured back for something big like Secret Wars. Well she got out of the Quantum Realm, got immediately blipped, then it’s been a few years. Maybe she just didn’t want to tell of all the bad shit she saw in there because she was hoping they’d never go back in and potentially face it.
You don’t have to like it, I’m just throwing an idea I saw floated around already. Calm your balls Vin.
