hopefully the face is easily removable and a third party makes a new one closer to the original toy face.

Sculpt wise it’s actually a very decent approximation of a realistic lion head (save those stupid exposed fangs that have no business being there). It’s the lack of paint apps that makes it appear so off to some folks. If it had pupils, black around the eyes and mouth and a bit of shading it has the potential to look pretty incredible. The show accurate colors really don’t do the sculpt justice.

Cool to see some likeminded people. Can’t wait to see what you guys do with this figure once you get it in hand. Be sure to post pics! :)

I'm looking forward to this one for the most part, though it ain't perfect (what is?) . The robot proportions seem a smidge off, giving a bit of a 'short-armed Gundam' vibe. The lion paw kibble on the arms looks a bit awkward, perhaps moreso than previous Lio toys, though that might be mitigated by positioning somewhat. Seems it picked up some of the same disease that affected Kingdom Waspinator's and Legacy Inferno's bug legs. And then there's that lion face. I'm hoping a bit of paint work would take the edge off the derp factor, but...

I saw one of PerspectiveEnd's vids that made this connection, and I immediately thought "Aw shit, THAT'S why Legacy Lio's mug looks strangely familiar to me.

Hmm, should I get the get good lion soon or wait for bad lion later? Decisions, decisions. Definitely getting one or the other, maybe both.

Flaws aside, this is a pretty alright looking Lio Convoy.

I'd like to see them do more characters from these shows.

This guy looks pretty great, honestly. I mean, I can see why people wouldn't like the Beast mode, and leaving his abs unpainted is kinda weird, but eh. It's a great figure, imo.

    Also, wo ist BTS Breakdown?

I'm glad the panel for the Energon Matrix can open. It looked like it could based on the initial reveal, but Kickback's torso also looked like it could open when it was first revealed, too, so I've stopped making assumptions :lol

Derpy lion face aside, looks fantastic. Lion Typhoon being present is good, and I'm glad it doesn't spin. Kind of a pain in the ass on the original figure. Wish the lion claw blades were a little longer, but that's just nitpicky. Torn on how I feel about them being the wrong direction.

I would quite like Beast Wars Galvatron, Big Convoy and Magmatron.

Looks so much better than that incredibly flat and undetailed MP. The fur lines give a lot to make him look like a real lion.

I have never been a fan of this design, and it all boils down to those front lion legs hanging off of the robot mode forearms.

Somehow though, this figure made it look even worse. :lol

Ah well, the rest of him (minus those dead lion eyes) looks fine, so I'll pick him up once he gets a good discount.

No. It's just the usual thing where part of a figure looks a little off and then between reveal and release people decide it's the worst thing ever because it's all they've been talking about.

Good to know it was mentioned how he has all this compatibility for blast effects ... which they don\'t really sell at all.

I know right. Is wish they would sell more blast effects with the commanders and titans again. It would be nice if we got more packs like the Kingdom one which I can't remember the name right now. I thought blast effects were gonna be thrown in the trash when Legacy started since Blaster and a few other figures for some reason didn't have blast effect post.

MP's lion mode is just bad, no way around it, I was honestly expecting much more from them (then again, I understand concessions had to be made which is something that also happened with MP Blackarachnia). RM is much worse than the MP actually, both in robot and especially lion mode.

Yes, which integrate better with the mane thanks to that.

You... you have to be kidding me. I have the original, it has a good lion mode... and that's where the positives stop because the robot mode was always, ALWAYS awkward looking with overly-thin arms, huge head and articulation that was often hindered because of the gimmicks (especially the rotating mane). Hell, OG Lio Convoy couldn't even store its own missiles! That in and of itself is an awful rarity for BW toys, even BWII Galvatron did that.

There's no way that Legacy Leo Prime is a "sidegrade". Is vastly superior.

it literally can though?? all 4 of them can stay on in every mode.
I mean it really is, its got a better robot mode and a worse Lion mode. its also kind of fat in robot mode but still proportionally better than the original.

Lio Convoy came with 6 missiles by the way (if I remember correctly) and they couldn't store neither in beast or robot mode because they were too big for their own missile launchers which means they were very notorious in lion form (and they didn't look right in robot mode either). BW toys were famous because they had a place to store pretty much everything in the toy, especially missiles, Lio Convoy's extra stuff had no other place to go except the package.

Eh, nah. Lion mode is better simply because of the articulation. OG Lio Convoy's lion mode was just a good looking statue.
