Does the movie explain how BA speaks with a perfect ‘Murican English accent (I know next to nothing about the character)?
He loved playing Buford God I miss when Hollywood still had a sense of humor and would roast each other or have surprise moments like these.
Audience reactions are coming out. They say no plot at all, kid is annoying and worthless bad guy but jsa is great when on screen and tons and tons of action scenes that look great on the big screen. Sounds like people are enjoying this like an 80s chuck norris film or commando and is there for the action. So, if you want plot or character growth you won't get it. Want mindless action and bad arnold puns this movie is for you from the sound of it.
So the Rock visited our showing last night! The movie itself felt so refreshing. Just a straight superhero origin film with no real world junk. Just completely focused on the story and characters. Felt like even though not all the characters got a ton pf screen time the time they did get didnt feel wasted at all. I loved the twist in Adams backstory. Great overall.
Spoiler Seems related to his transformed state. When hes powered up he can speak and understand english but when he de-powers he speaks in his old tongue again. Most likely related to whichever gods power is giving him knowledge.
Was this set up before hand like most of Rock's fan interactions are or was it a legit surprise he called you up?
Not a bad movie, not a great movie, as usual with most hero films the villain is undeveloped. But while not my favorite movie, I didn’t hate it either. It works for the most part and I didn’t feel like I wasted money seeing it. It’s what it is a fun harmless popcorn flick. In these days with so many films that preach and disappoint, thats not a bad thing. Worth viewing again streaming or getting a Blu-ray. Not amazed, but not disappointed by it either. The Actor for Hawkman has bulked up, It took me a second but then I remembered where I knew him from. He used to play a nerd on the Leverage series. Good actor and for the most part pretty good cast they mostly kept to comic lore, but sadly left out Fate an Hawkmans Egyptian history with Black Adam. Also they claimed the golden age Atom called himself Atom Smasher, but other than a few minor annoyances that as a comic fan ticked my inaccuracies switch, over all didn’t stay too far from the source material in personalities and powers of the characters. Even the costumes were close for the most part. Nah it didn't come close to classic 80's Arnold one liners, that would have made it far more fun. Though I did get a chuckle about the who's gonna teach the kid violence back and forth lines.
Great movie! Glad he wasn't toned down and violent as Hell just like in the comics (thanks to comicsexplained lol.) I don't usually go out to watch movies anymore but this was an exception.
Everyone's talking about the big non-secret cameo in this movie, but I found it nice to see Spoiler Harcourt (from Peacemaker) again for a minute
Just got back from seeing this. I enjoyed it alot. Action was top notch. Dwayne captured the spirit of Black Adam perfectly. Only nit pick I have was the final fight could have been a little longer. Seemed liked they rushed through to get to the end. All in all I will definitely watch this again. Spoiler the great big secret cameo of the Fonz as golden age Atom Smasher was epic.
