If any 3P company ever takeover Transformers, I would magicly trackdown the designers from Fansproject and put them in charge.

They just had right blend of unique aesthetic and respect for the originals I loved. Alot of current 3P try to hard to be G1 without a style that appeals to me.

My counterpoint to SS86 Arcee being "better" is that she's every bit the Shellformer that Earthrise is, more of a Shellformer than T30 is and out of the package, none of them actually look like G1 Arcee, because of the enormous backpack. Nor do they, IMO, make for super compelling Transformers toys. T30 and SS86 add a bunch of superfluous engineering to the transformation to make it more complicated but it's still in service of a robot that wears 98 percent of their alt mode on their back. The truth is that the G1 Arcee design makes for a terrible transforming toy, which is why, for me, Earthrise with a replacement back piece is the last and only G1 Arcee that I need. It's a spitting image for the bot mode, has nice articulation and, as mentioned, can do the silly Cog thing from the Netflix show.

I'm hoping beyond reason that SS86 represents the definitive version of this design. Now let's put it to bed and actually come up with a "G1 Arcee" design that feels like an actual Transformers toy. I'd prefer it not be an Elita-1 retool but I won't be mad if that's what ends up happening. I'd love to see something along the lines of SS-85 BBM Arcee but as an earth motorcycle. Arcee deserves her own earth mode design. Preferably one without the egregious backpack.

Cybertronian Wrestling Federation? Haven\'t put too much thought into that aside from Galvatron and his crew as The Bloodline.

Galvatron\'s Roman, Cyclonus\' Heyman, Scourge and a Sweep would be The Usos, and Octane would be Sami Zayn.

Don’t know if Aaron reads the comments but man wishing him the best! I moved six months ago into my first home and it was so stressful and anxiety inducing that I can only imagine the added stress of getting your car damaged right after moving. Sorry that happened, and hope you’re doing better.

I personally am really excited for MPG Raiden. I’ve got some of the moon bots, never completed, and have been enjoying them as individuals. I’m largely treating the MPGs the same way where I’m curious on how it’ll all end up but won’t mind having like… 4 of the 6. It does look like, so far, that Kaen will really just kinda be the groin and some kibble as his train mode is much smaller than the others and these are meant to be HO scale trains.

I have no interest in those NEST figures but something I do think is cool is… I think these are the first weird repaints of any SS molds? So far everything has had to be pretty much what was from the screen, so maybe this will open things to some other wild repaints.

I have it on good authority that I don't read the comments. Except for when I do.

It's been a stressball and a half. I'm still car-less because the payout wasn't really enough except for to buy a rust-bucket, and I'd rather wait until the old house is sold to have another 1000 or so per month of budget freed up along with a decent lump sum to cover the cost of a new ride.

That sucks. Yep, understandable. The apartment I was renting caught on fire about a month before I was set to move out so all I can say is moving is cursed and here's to us both having less crazy 2023s.

Hey, at least the special cervical pillows that I got you for an Amazon wishlist/housewarming arrived timely for this unfortunate situation.

As to Vangelus & TJ, yeah that’s more or less what I wanted. I’d have accepted Maketoys, Badcube & Fansproject as good contenders.

While, I’m pretty sure all of these companies have at least partially disbanded (and maybe been incorporated into Magic Square, Newage & Iron Factory), I think they each seem to be flexible in their designs & have degree of paint management.

Also, Newage has many more retools that could have been considered. Galvatron as both Straxus & Shattered Glass Megatron. Bumblebee & Cliffjumper are also clear retools. Their Macross style G1 retool of Skyfire looks great. And the Shattered Glass Grimlock is at least decent

I hate to necro, but does the podcast have any plans to watch/review Earthspark?
