Couple buddies arrived courtesy of Show.z today.




Was super hyped to check this guy out as I'm a big fan of weathered figures. He's……..ok. He definitely doesn't look as good as he does on the back of the box, but he's kinda dirty……I think…..




He's definitely not as bad as some of the initial pics made him out to be, in my opinion, yet still a smidge disappointing.

Mine also came with a bit of a paint blemish on the face. I'll have to email Show.z and see if I can get a replacement.






Overall, I'm happy…..I think….if not a tad underwhelmed.

Maybe it's that I don't have very good lighting and I have old man eyes so some of the details are lost on me. I have to admit, I'm looking at these pics I took as I'm writing this and he looks a bit better to me, even with so/so lighting, because I can see the details better (stupid eyes).

 

i know they probably have there own thread but seeing as this is a general newage seeker thread i'll try asking a rather harmless question here

What do you think are the chances of getting toy decoed coneheads? and possibly thundercracker and skywarp, i'm really into the toy decos of late

 

glad I didn't cancel the preorder. Looks great to me.

With how newage repaints everything to death, the only thing that will prevent the coneheads from getting a toy deco repaint is if they do a seeker 2.0 mold first, and then do you decos of that one. But even then probably

Okay, had noticed white flaps were finally out for Michael, so I picked up a set:

Unfortunately its more of a cream color, so there is a slight mismatch in the whites.

Still not sure if I prefer the white or red flaps:



Since Redwing is sorta inverse of SG Starscream, I thought I'd flip the flaps:

But that's not obviously right.


With the proper flaps.

 

personally I like the last pic the 'proper' way, but given you can mix 'em up anytime, it's nice to have options when you need a change in life and your wife isn't going anywhere!

 

personally like the red, hence why i followed in you and got them as well. but the white isn't bad. just wish that the colour matching on these add-ons were better.

 

I like the red for Michael but unfortunately the white doesn’t look good for Redwing.

 

Can’t get the images onto my phone but toon versions of skywarp and thundercracker coming! I’m all in since I don’t have the originals but kind of a crap move to wait a year on these.

Those two should really not have the smirking animation Starscream face.

 

They still won't paint Skywarp's shoulders the right color?

 

Other than the head sculpt and cockpit color… what’s different?

 

So the shoulders on Skywarp still are not painted and on both Thunfercracker and Skywarp the upper chest panels are still not grey to match the front chest intakes…

I love my Starscream cartoon version but both of these seem lazy…(I will still get them though because I’m a slave to NA)

 

Just when you thought they were done with this mold. They keep pumping them out. Milk it… Lol

Still waiting on EX versions of both Thundercracker and Skywarp.

Yeah, probably skip them since they are using the smirking Starscream face.
But I'll pick up some EX decos if they ever release them.

 

Hm, not enough difference from the originals to get me interested. Are these hard enough to find to warrant a reissue? I'd still love to see toy versions of SW & TC

 

Is there actually a big difference between the toon and toy versions of the coneheads?

 

there's light blue added on the knee intakes for both and the silver for skywarp has been changed to grey.

also the purple seems to be more darker blue for skywarp, and the black for both doesn't seem as dark, but it could be just the photo lighting.

H13C SS 1.5 was different enough colours for me to pick up, as i really dig the darker grey. but these two i'm not gonna bother with, they're just too similar to merit upgrading.

if anyone has an extra 1.5 black helmet head from H13B SG SS, i'd be interested in it. if it helps, i would be able to offer the original 1.0 head or a grey 1.5 head as trade if that's of any interest.
