I've often wondered this myself. Some of you guys got massive unbelievable collections, and by the looks of the pictures nice homes too.

I sell other collections and toys to pay for my Transformers. Except for my Gobots, nothing else matters. I just sold my entire Beast Wars collection and turned around and bought a bunch of Gen 1s, including several Optimus Prime cabs and trailers to make into customs.

I'm a software developer for a major UK bank. It pays decent money, but I tend to spend more of it on going to gigs, stuff for my band and socialising than I do on the toys.

That may well change when Animated toys hit these shores!

Sell toys to other local collectors.

But i do so in the same way a drug dealer operates. first i get them hooked with small, cheap stuff. then as the habit grows, start selling them bigger and more expensive stuff, until they're trading me DVD players and relatives for toys.

Beyond my normal wage I mark 1st year assignments or teach 1st year labs for that little bit of extra green. Can't complain for over $30 an hour.

I currently finance my collecting in an incredibly irresponsible fashion--via student loans.

But I graduate in December and have a pretty sold paycheck guaranteed at that time. And a few months after that, I'll head to Afghanistan, where I'll have modest increase in salary coupled with a marked drop in personal expenses. Then it'll be GO TIME on eBay.
I know this isn't anywhere near as creepy as it reads...but it still reads pretty creepy.

I only spend my disposable income on them.

Which as of late, with gas prices and my $400 a month electric bill hasn't been that much, unfortunately.

    I sell my ass.

Usually it's just a one-on-one thing, but if I need a whole load of cash quick I arrange something I like to call Buttcon.

I kind of buy TFs on impulse... much to the dismay of my bank account. I have no job, been unable to find one near home... that's why I'm stuck in college.

I do R&D for a certain large American computer company with a 2-letter abbreviation. :lol

This earns me a decent wage by itself, but I'm still way in debt from school and CC, so I work a lot of OT and weekends in order to feed my plastic crack habit relatively guilt-free.

I keep a change jar. Every day I throw my loose change into it. Adds up pretty quick. $70-$80 every couple of months. Doesn't cover all my transformer purchases, but can clear several deluxes or help save up for one big one. (subject to wife not deciding to cash it in for something)
