Yeah, Hasbro's been major assholes about that almost as long as reissues have been around.

While some were contemplating this morning (EST time), people (fan/scalpers/etc...) voted with their wallets. This morning Starscream was sold out, just saw Hot Rod now as well in Pulse.

Bolds well for future iteration. Curious which character from the animated movie is up next? Prime? I have a feeling if that's the case I will be collecting this line and keeping it MISB.

Oh a G1 Megatron reissue isn't ever gonna happen. If it does it'll be in random colors.

I am glad that we're finally getting a pink / magenta Hot Rod. He looks so marvelous.

    That color is PERFECT!

You know for what these are they're really neat. And they sold out within the first hour of going up on Pulse, so apparently they're a success. If I was ever gonna get another G1 toy I'd like it to be in cartoon colors just for the novelty of it.

That Hot Rod is absolutely lovely, and I like the box as well. The color palette just screams "TF:TM 1986."

Unfortunately, I'm still jobless and broke, so this will be one of the many things I have to pass on.

Geez. Life changes fast. I used to be able to just pick up whatever cool stuff I wanted when it came up unexpectedly. Now....I just need to focus on food.

Looks lovely. Might actually try to get one when able.

I would like to see who else they may tackle.

i hope we can see optimus and soundwave and the rest of the crew in some cartoon colours.
also, why do they reissue the same old g1 figures? why no more jazz, blitzwing, mirage, sunstreaker? if the molds are broken surely they can reverse engineer some new ones

The G1 Magnus in the darker blue would look awesome. I hope they consider it.

My lord Galvatron in his dark blue coloration too,but that's probably slim due to the electronics
    (Prove me wrong Hasbro)

They could always do a release that guts the electronics.

Damn, I really wish this hadn’t dropped while I was at ComicCon. I managed to snag Hot Rod but I’d have really have liked to have grabbed Starscream. I keep my G1 reissue in box so it would have been pretty cool to have a second one in more animation accurate deco around out of box to mess with.

Even that's not gonna get picked up by any retailers most likely. Hasbro tried that same idea literally 20 years ago in the Commemorative Series at TRU, and it looked like this:

But even that didn't convince TRU to carry it. So no, no G1 Megatron reissue period, even in absurd colors.

That looks like Megatron got sunburnt wearing only a t-shirt. I can see why TRU said no.

Certainly a very warranted direction to take a reissue. Apparently I'm the only one who greatly prefers the original deco?

Of course i still have my original in reasonably good shape- so I'm happy you guys are getting what you want finally.

I actually customized my mp to make it look more like the original G1 toy.

i know walmart optimus wasnt a popular decision but id like them to do it in this new retro style
g1 optimus figure in cartoon colors with teh music label head
    even without the trailer again
    r_ipod-g1-convoy-170.jpg
cartoon colors astrotrain. cyclonus. pack of scourge and sweeps with color differences like studio 86. soundwave. magnus. galvatron. rodimus.
    any of these.

Takara did a pretty decent Galvatron repaint back in 2005 or so:
