I'd actually put RotF in middle as well.

TLK is where everything truly got severely disjointed.

 

I'd put ROTF higher up too, if it weren't for the Twins. I absolutely cannot stand them, and they get centre stage for a solid one third of the film.

I have a feeling the only reason some people defend them is because English isn't their first language, and it's not obvious to these people that the twins are just racist caricatures.

If the twins were replaced with literally any other Autobot, ROTF would probably be top tier for me.

 

Are you people really this goddamn ignorant and blame a 15 year old movie for a new one being bad just because of the stupidity of executives? Blame those, because they couldn't a mediocre film trilogy rest. The 1st film did more good than harm despite your little personal vendetta against it

TF1 was pretty solid and created more goodwill than not. Di Bonaventura had his major success in snagging Michael Bay and getting a script from a pair of decent screen writers. The script wasn't ironclad but Spielberg was also there to assist Lorenzo and the result was a decent transforming robot film that didn't quite understand its roots but had enough there to fake it. It was out of that goodwill that I'd say the rest of the films succeeded for awhile. But that goodwill began to lose steam with DotM and was gasping and wheezing when we got to TLK.

We got something great from Bumblebee. It had most of the hallmarks of TF1 without the cringe that Bay's movies brought. And it understood its roots.

Now Di Bonaventura is saying they need to take the heart of BB and add more Bay...not understanding that Bay's version of Transformers was being ran into the ground. But that's Lorenzo for you. If I blame the executives for anything, it's for not changing producers because Lorenzo apparently learned nothing from Spielberg on TF1 and keeps trying to make the same mistakes. And it's not JUST Transformers...it's GIJoe and his other movies as well.

 

I couldn't have said it better and it's genuinely very annoying to me that people still treat the 07 movie as it's all its fault for the state of the movies rn. Which is just super dumb and very bias. It's all in the executives who probably thought that "If we added more Bay to the Bumblebee it would've clearly done better!". The Bayhem has simply run its course completely with Transformers and that well, it's just Lorenzo who is the issue.

 

Hey, now. The Last Stand is clearly the best Arnold movie and Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit is clearly the best Jack Ryan movie. And Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich is clearly the high point of the Puppet Master films, grossing over half a million dollars.

It's not like a guy could routinely damage successful billion dollar brands and wind up producing over 60 films in under 20 years.

That's the very thing that made him interesting.
The grandiose nature of everyone's outfits and abilities vary among comics, several cartoons, and alive action movies.
But whether the rifles are firing armor piercing rounds or laser apples, Snake Eyes is always depicted as the silent, dark character.
The fact that he wears black among the most chromatic branch of the armed forces in history combined with the fact that he never says anything -never even has a thought bubble, makes everything about him mysterious.

Even if you don't agree with me, his skills and weapons set him apart.

Every character in the Snake Eyes movie has the same skill set yet somehow come across as more interesting and likable than the title character.

Assuming you've been around for the entire ride you would have first respected Storm Shadow as a deadly enemy.
Then your respect for him would have increased because Storm Shadow is introspective.
He had based his entire life around getting revenge, but when faced with evidence that his understanding was incorrect he deliberately changed his convictions.
(Something people in the real world have difficulty doing these days.)

I much prefer that than have Storm Shadow run off because he used the magic rock and he's pouting because he should be leader.
And I much prefer Snake Eyes being the cypher with a tragic past to his being an uncharismatic jerk who literally betrays everyone who is good to him yet somehow gets rewarded by those very people he betrayed.

 

Are you really that ignorant that you haven't read the friggin' thread to know what people are actually discussing? No one's blaming TF07. They're blaming the film franchise as a whole because it went all downhill from there. The first film is harmless fluff by comparison to what came after it. Even I don't hate on the movie that bad. Still, you need to calm down, it's a movie about toys and no one personally attacked you over it, but you on the other hand?

Yeah, you need to chill out. If toys and the movies that sell them cause you to get this upset, it's time for a vacation away from here.

They are all Arashikage ninjas. They should have the same training. However, some will be proficient because of time studying and others will have innate skill.

Yes, I've been immersed in G.I. Joe since 1983 and Transformers since 1984. Technically longer as I grew up with Micronauts and Adventure Team.

"Silent Interlude" captured my interest but I didnt really become engaged in SS as a character until he left Springfield with Billy.

In the Origins film, Snake Eyes also did a 180.
And in the comics, Storm also pouted about his uncles making SE heir to the clan even though he turned them down. That jealousy was always there.

And the clan forgave him in the film even though he didnt pass their test with the telepathic cobra because in the end, he pulled a Grinch and did the right thing.

Bull. No one made any personal attacks but him. Over a movie about toys. The response was absolutely warranted. No one should have to sit here and read such garbage. That's the problem with the fandom, today. I hate quoting Mike Tyson because he's not a good person, but he's right about not getting decked over social media. A lot of us could use a good knock in the mouth a time or two.

 

Was it a bit much? Sure. But this feels like a bit of an overreaction if I'm being honest. Plenty of worse things have been said on these boards than calling people "ignorant" despite how valid or invalid it may be. Hasbro needs to make a really good movie first before it can become a Cinematic Universe. Making a couple crap films and say that they go together won't work

 

These movies are always same shit different day. To expect a change from that based on no evidence is ignorance.
