Dunno if any of you are from the UK but the shipment prices are egregious to Japan. No language issues and AJP do send the replacement item without having to get the old one in their warehouse, but they only ever want insured DHL delivery which costs a hell of a lot more than anything I've ever had to return. Their instructions aren't clear at all and they take nearly a month to process a refund once they receive it. Unless you do a specific long-winded arrangement they can't pay you back the full refund when it gets beyond a certain cost, which it always does. Since they only accept DHL I have to use DHL's website which is very slow and clunky and very picky.

Ami Ami is very quick and only ask for the cheapest tracked delivery. It costed a 20th of the price to ship Getusei back with Royal Mail. Much prefer their system and the site as a whole, but I get the appeal of AJP over Ami Ami for some, it's dependent on where you live and such.

Definitely need to dishsoap it or something, I'd rather it be loose as hell than break.

Might be different from the Amazon USA but all I did was create a trouble ticket and chatted with their staff. I sent the image of the crushed box and they sent me a printed DHL shipping form which I stuck on the original package and called DHL to pick up the to be returned item. Again, maybe its the language.

Concerning amiami, it was a different issue . They let me keep the defective item. They sent me back the missing part. Maybe being an old customer, amiami is really extra nice to me.

I did offer them to just send me his leg but that would require unscrewing shit and I don't think they can be arsed lmao
I am a repeat customer I do believe if you're faithful and spend money they want to keep goodwill. Hell, they say on their site they cant replace or give parts.

I think that plastic cement and a reinforce with a metal piece should suffice

Do you think a paperclip cut to size would be small enough or should I look for something thinner?

The person you quoted mentioned nothing about a return with Amiami, just a replacement. I assume amiami just sent a replacement without requesting return, unlike ajp who requests returns.

If I am incorrect, it could also be that ajp just refunds and requests a return so you lose money in the end

I've never lost a cent while returning anything to AJP.

Do you mean gas to go to the post office? Hell, I think they'll even refund that if you ask them nicely.

You can probably fill that, but you can sand down the shaft some and lube it. You dont have to go crazy, it doesnt take much, but get it feels like its not pushing the plastic. where it feels more comfortable moving in and out an rotating.

Im probably wrong, but I still think the shaft is too perfect for the hole, leaving no give or slack.

I think the problem is less sliding/rotating the joint and more moving it in any direction when looking at the "top" face of the cylinder. It's a rod in a hole fit to it, so there's no give to move the rod up/down or side to side. Mine broke because my thumb slipped unpegging the peg which moved the rod up/down.

Oh man, yours broke as well? Sorry to hear that! Mine seems very robust and I was having a hard time believing these panels are breaking so easily. I noticed that if you have the train wheels in the wrong spot when you go to rotate that panel and you try to force the panel to bend around the wheels that would probably cause a break. But of course I never tried that. A few times I went to rotate, the panel got stuck on the wheels, then I moved the wheels and all was well. I could see that causing a break for sure. That plastic panel is not clear as far as I know and it looks pretty thick to me so I don't understand why they are breaking so easily. There must be a huge amount of force on that part if you torque the sliding pin sideways. Having said all that, ever since that first break of that part was posted in this thread I've been super paranoid about those two panels and I move them very carefully. Hopefully the next train bot does not end up with a similar issue.

Yeah, it should be generally avoidable. Just an accident on my part. Lost my grip and applied too much force. Glad to hear yours is good.

Ami Ami does ask for the item back, they just don't gouge you with asking for the most premium delivery on the planet. That and they can actually just send refunds and not cap it at £50 then you get a gift card lol
