Anyone else notice the new SG Blitzwing on the MTG cards? Could they have him as leader2? Not sure how a jet/tank fits in the race, but that hasn't stopped other odd choices...

There's 4 new SG characters (and a 5th unrevealed one) on those cards.

Cyclonus, Prowl, Blitzwing, AND Thundercracker. I think that's 80% of our next SG wave.

This is my favorite look for the mold, even beating Toxitron by a hair. Would love a movie homage too, or even a TR homage. Pretty crazy for the mold now that I have Scourge in hand. However they release it, I'll be on it like stink on a skunk. The truck mode is just to die for.

If they decide to use any other mold for Velocitron's Wave 2 it'd be cool if they use either Chryotek or even a Nemesis repaint out of Kingdom Ultra Magnus with the combined mode having the SG ultra Magnus head to give it an extra evil flair.

Do we know SG is continuing? Yes, SG is an infinite well of easy repaints (and sometimes a little tooling), but the comic may not be able to transfer to a new company.

Does "no new comics" = "no more SG"? I don't know, but it could be a significant driver of sales.

Man, I wish they would just stop packing that drivel in. $10 dollars for pack-in advertising. Bleh. Hopefully they move SG into other capsule lines like this.

SG seems to be one of if not the most well received transformer comic in a long time so I think it's probable they'd continue it, but even if they don't continue the comic I can't see sg stopping anytime soon. We still need fan favorites like Rodimus and Thundercracker, along with whatever other less notable characters they could easily do

New color scheme is what I meant. Looks almost like Broadside was the inspiration

The first of these modern SG figures were Prime and Ratchet who were in the Gen Selects line and came without a comic, so it's possible it could revert back to that if the new comic company doesn't continue SG comics.

And it's not like the new company couldn't continue on with the SG comics, same as IDW was able to do a continuation of the Marvel continuity. It's all owned by Hasbro at the end of the day.

I hope they continue it. Especially if they can “double dip” some characters. SG Thundercracker (G1 Action Master Thundercracker). SG Metroplex (G1 Metrotitan). SG Sideswipe (G2 Drench). SG Elita One (Cybertron Double Clutch or Override GTS). It can go on and on..

No doubt SG figures could keep going. It's a repaint heaven for almost every mold they create.

Actually though, I'd almost prefer the comics NOT continue. That way i wouldn't be trapped in the "gotta be a completionist" mentality and could cherry pick items.

You have no idea how relieved I was when an SG Titan wasn't one of the last figures in this wave, lol.

Same here. Honestly this may be the last wave of SG that I go completionist on

Me too... Black Jetfire, Magnus, and Soundwave + minions is about the largest price / physical size I'm willing to go for non-"g1 toon" guys anymore...

I’m not an SG collector (although I have picked up a few pieces that had very appealing decos) but it seems to me that Hasbro has curated this subline very well and hasn’t flooded the market with figures. I give them kudos just for that.

Part of me feels like the line has run it’s course and part of me feels like there’s still more gas in the tank. We’ll see. A cool deco is still a cool deco.

This has gotten me thinking about all of the exclusive sublines and how successful they’ve been at producing must-have figures. And I think I’d rate SG above Velocitron, Wreckers and Buzzworthy.

I think SG has on average cooler deco and character choices. Velocitron cheats with two original molds but overall has bland decos. Wreckers and Buzzworthy just has very forgettable choices outside of one or two characters. (This is all subjective, so don’t burn me at the stake.)

TL’DR: We need new molds or heavy-ish retools. Or more Seeker repaints if you’re really out of ideas.

Yeah, Pulse is actually where I got all my Velocitron stuff (sans Blurr, who I saw IRL and decided I couldn't resist after all), and since Walmart doesn't like actually fulfilling preorders I'm gonna go that way again :lol
