These look good; but looking at distribution, not so much.

Taking a second look at the pics Evan posted, I realized they put the two torso bots out together in the first wave so you can start mixing and matching modular limbs while waiting for the rest of the team.

They're pretools for a team of dinosaurs who do combine....

I actually like the idea of tiny combiner...

I like potp for Volcanicus. I will be ecstatic when ss86 finishes the leader sized Dinobots. These little combiners... I'll pick up the recolor / retooled Dinoking when that happens. Don't need more Dinobots, but will love them as a g1 group that hasn't gotten an update yet.

I'll probably pick and choose whichever Core Dinobots look decent and fun to me, but for the full team, I'll be holding out for the Dinoking and/or Monstructor version(s).

I'm in the "didn't try that hard did you Hasbro" team... I don't find them to look good for being comparable to the first few core figures we have (Prime, Megs, SS, and so below Rattrap it's not the line line/class whatsoever) and more than McDonald toys. Heck the "Dinobot Adventure figures have a better dinobot mode, regardless of these being combiners.

As far as the question of "so who's buying dinobots just because they combine" I wasn't convinced when POTP came out but it grew on me a lot and now consider a part of them as a whole.

I went all out for my "definitives" which I had 3 requirement: they needed to be big, they needed to be G1 toy styled, AND they needed to combine, and I went with the best (to me) that I could find...

I figured there'd be six, given that the torso is a two-bot affair. Gotta have all four limbs.

Looking at pricing for combined sets, I don't know how pricing works out in the US/UK, but cores are €15 a piece here, a full team pack would be €90, assuming exclusive tax I'd imagine Dinoking and Monstructor would be sitting at around €100, so roughly commander pricepoint, not leader.

Hopefully the three way multi-reuse will mean they can reduce the cost a little between the Pretender teams

I'm not sure on how they'll do a Monstructor, if they do one. I'd love the possibility, but with how they're (presumably) going down the same route with the Dinoforce as they are the other Pretenders, with the shells integrated as regular robot elements, the Monstructor Six would need a pretty significant amount of retooling to make them work since their shell designs are far more monstrous.

Then do the Monstructor guys as new molds and find six relatively monstrous Decepticons to give them the same style makeover.

Core Abominus? Core Con Pretender Shells? The Firecons?

If there was any more evidence this was designed as dinoking first its the detachable combiner head, curious if the hands and feet will follow suit. Which would mean Grimlock and snarl come with the feet, Swoop and Skar the fists, Sludge might have a part? Slag kinda has two combiner pieces because the gun forms the stomach of volcanicus.

I know people are shitting on these but you gotta understand they are pulling triple duty being both an homage to the pretender shells while retaining the bot mode and being a combiner limb at core scale and pricepoint.

Thanks to Discord user Koopa119 we have some in hand images of Legacy Evolution core class Slug! Koopa119 managed to acquire this figure early thanks to Amazon sending out the preorder months ahead!

Take a look at the images and discuss down below!

I still absolutely loathe that they combine, but at least this one looks better than Sludge.

Lmao, I actually bought a KO Transformer for Dollarama not too long ago, and the Triceratops had a pretty similar way of hiding it's combiner's head, ala making it part of the tail.

Otherwise it's okay, Dino mode is probably the most compromised mode out of all of them, but..eh, triple changers aren't gonna be the most comprehensible, much less a legends class triple changer.

Hope the limbs will look better.
