Sorry to hear about the broken antenna! That really sucks. Hopefully your retailer can get a new head to you.

As for the unpainted legs, I think they are supposed to be like that. I got my copy today as well and they are also unpainted as are the arms. It’s more of a metallic plastic.

It’s sort of odd; UT’s first release (or maybe second?), had the all around metallic paint. Even the shins. The only area that wasn’t painted were his hands. I have that version and aside from the hands he actually pops out a bit more. Either way - he’s still an amazing piece all together.

I almost prefer this version to that one IMO!
I had the first release and while the paint was gorgeous, it was chipping pretty easily.

With this just being metallic plastic I can flip modes back and forth with way less worry about that. But that’s definitely just a preference!

It is still a relevant figure since its the only one in the ?mpm scale. Someone tell ut to change/update some bits. Id buy one if they do.

Also, not sure if anyone has done this but BS03s head looks really good on this guy (ignore the mismatched blue) PXL_20220908_032938263.PORTRAIT~2.jpg PXL_20220908_032933770.PORTRAIT~2.jpg PXL_20220908_033103563.PORTRAIT~2.jpg

Sorry to reopen a semi-dead thread, but I wanted to let everyone know that I am working on a blaster and energon swords for the original challenger figure. The gun may or may not be able to tab into the hands and the swords will utilize the gap in the forearms when you fold the hands up to go into truck mode. They will be free stl files that anyone with access to a 3d printer can print out. I also want to make "stencils" that will go over the weapons to make painting them easier. I have no idea how long this is going to take but I am working on them.

Can someone with nero measure the height of the hole in his chest? I am thinking of making a version of the sword that doesn't have the wide part on the end so you can recreate the "You have no soul" scene.

I have two updates on the gun and the sword. I'm going to release the sword first since the gun is more complicated than the mostly flat sword.
There are going to be two versions off the sword. One uses a square peg that pegs into the gap underneath the hinge the hand is on. The other will use the mushroom peg that the hand is on. The square peg version is mainly for those that don't want to pop the hand off the mushroom peg. I will post screenshots of both versions when the models are finished

Anybody know how to get the hip assembly opened up on Challenger? I got mine in yesterday and have a few loose joint issues. The bicep swivels are really floppy, but that's easily fixed—the shoulder assembly has a few obvious screws to get it open so I can stiffen that up. The front/back hip joints, though...I don't see any way to get into the hip piece unless I'm really missing something.

They just sort of swing freely and there appears to be some plastic shaving pulling out when they are moved. Kind of weird.

EDIT: Well, I found it...the hips are held in with a screw form the opposite side. So the only thing holding the leg in from the side is a screw. I expected a mushroom peg at the very least.

That is, quite frankly, some very disappointing amateur-hour BS.

I had to use a hobby knife and file on some pieces that had extra plastic from the sprues. The panels tab in much better now, so you may want to see if there's any glaring issues like that. I think the biggest ones for me were where the roof fits over tops of the cab doors. Mine had HUGE chunks of plastic sticking up that needed to be trimmed off.

That's happened to every version of this figure I've had eventually. It's too bad the feet suck so much on an otherwise really great figure.

Floor polish is what I use for everything, but also I got replacement foot parts that had a built-in hole for the tab to tab into which solved the foot stability problem and the loose panel problem.

Don't ever glue anything you don't have to. That piece has to fold down and rotate for transformation, so I would not recommend using glue on it.

It can, but is generally a bad idea. You have to be very careful and do a ton of constant movement to stop it from gluing together.

Glue is almost never a good idea for improving tolerances. It chips easily and can damage the plastic over time.
