I've only sort of heard about this figure in passing, but only started looking it more closely today.

The renewal one definitely has the upgrade joint kit?

Is the combined mode pretty sturdy? Like you can actually pose it and not worry about it toppling over?

yes the reissue has the upgrade kit preinstalled
the combined mode is quite sturdy so if you have him standing he'll be perfectly fine, that being said its just not a posable figure and I think his age is starting to show compared to other combiners we've gotten in recent years
this is the most dynamic pose I can get him without him falling over (srry for the bad photo)

I'd say get it if you really really want this figure, but I'd be aware of this set's flaws before blindly purchasing it

 

Didn't someone do a 3d printed upgrade for the feet, because I feel like that is the biggest limitation with his poseability

 

I think the new upgrade kit on the shoulder is a meh, it cannot hold the arms that carry guns and spears, eventually the arms will slowly drop downwards due to the non ratcheting upgrade kits of shoulder.

Noone dare to show the truth to prove they are making a mistake to buy this upgrade kit.

 

I don't recall, but probably.
Most of my problems with his feet, however, went away when I got some sticky rubber to put on the bottoms of his feet. You can buy thin sheets of it, with adhesive on one side, and it keeps him a lot steadier on hard surfaces.

Review:
1. The new joints on the knees are very lousy. Even you push all the way in and hear a CLICK sound, but the lower legs will still come out easily. He has warned us not to carry the TFC Hades combined mode in mid way, else the lower legs will drop out suddenly.
2. The new connector part on the red jet is very easy to get stressmark.

 

What kind of tools were you using on the figure? Did the upgrade kit come with one of its own? I recommend a set of JIS screwdrivers for anything transformer related.

I couldn't swing this set back then, and I can't right now, either.
I'm hoping during the time I have to wait that another company can take a pass at these guys.
This set looks good, but I feel like it can be done better.

 

Depends on what you like/what you collect.

XTB will make a hyper accurate Toon version. And it will be MP scale.

MMC will make a “Ox” version (if a Studio OX design exists) and it’ll be *more or less* MP scale.

This is not MP scale. The figures aren’t Toon accurate.

This set is perfect for my collection. Especially two of the individual guys (Hellbat and Leozack) — chef kiss for my voyager/IDW/comic collection.

Zero interest in a MMC, FT and/or XTB one myself.

 

Again, y’all should look into a set of JIS screwdrivers for your TF needs. Won’t ever have to worry about these companies including cheap-o ones with your sets.

 

Can someone be kind enough to show me photos of how many screw hole covers for the 3 jets?

My blue jet has 1 cover.
My red jet has 2 covers.
My green jet has 0 cover.

I watched the first release and green jet does come with two screw covers.
