Yes, hopefully the arm bots are much lighter. Especially now that we know Raiden is most likely getting a large gun and a sword. A chunk of them will be removed for the ankle gun pods, hopefully that helps. My first impression when I got Shouki was that the Raiden shoulder ratchets seemed to be too weak.

this is also assuming that is the shoulder rotation joint and not just some other joint.

on the block proto it almost looks liek some of the kaen parts lock it in but that might just be block proto being what it is.

It only took 5 days for me for a past purchase, they are really not all that bad. It gets transferred to fedex, at least in my experience.

Do note that the shoulder joint strength is heavily affected by torque, not by sheer weight. The shoulder joints only need to support roughly 2/3rds of the arm units' weight.

Some western reviewers are getting theirs in hand whilst I know it is done to death, I do have a small bit of freudenschade from their endless complaints. It's like they don't even know what they're buying before they hit 'pre order'. Also the name mispronunciations are hilarious

Yea, I considered that, so I transformed Getsuei as though he would be an arm - he was transformed into something similar to his leg mode, so the front of the train is sticking out of the shoulder

i do presume the arm bots will be lighter, though honestly, the arm ratchets genuinely seem quite weak - I also think it’s safe to assume they are the arm ratchets for now, since if they lock, the extra engineering going into that function would be a waste - hopefully I can find a way to tighten it, though I think it requires pin removal :/

maybe I could do a torque calculation lol - a real application for my physics classes

Lol, just watched the second western review. Of course the reviewer broke his trainbot. And the comparison is all about that Getsuei is a CHUG.

The arm bots have quite a lot of mass on the other side of the joint axis - like most of the mass of the big sticky-out shoulders. Hopefully within that is some diecast - like at least the arm-bots' feet. So that will act as a counterweight when the arms are lifted forwards. I really hope that is enough - I too am a bit concerned how loose those ratchets are!

They are the combiner shoulder ratchets for sure. They are quite large and serve zero purpose on Shouki. Although you can use them during transformation to get things out of the way. But why would they make such a large section rotate and why ratchet the joint?

That is a great theory and I hope you are correct! Because most of the arm bots become ankle kibble or rotate along the axis of the shoulder rotation, the only mass left to hold up is mostly the arm bot legs and Raiden's weapons. But TT could have used a stronger spring in the ratchet just in case their plan doesn't work out. There seems to be issues with ratchet joints in production on a lot of figures. I've had plenty of figures with very weak ratchets and I went through the DX9 Gabriel super duper way too strong ratchet debacle.

LOL it was! One of the knees on mine actually busted it's way right out of the leg housing. I ended up using 80 weight shock oil (standard tight joint fix) on every joint on that figure including the ratcheted fingers! And now I don't like handling it because there is oil leaking out of some of the joints and it's gross. So yeah, you can also have ratchets that are WAY too tight. At least I won't have to lube up Shouki.

Yeah those are definitely the Raiden shoulder rotation joints. They are fused in place on the prototype with a piece of plate glued in each side from the Kaen hip up into the armpit. Hopefully not foreshadowing of weak shoulder ratchets in the final figure! I'm sure TT will get it working.

And hopefully possible to tighten with a spring swap if needed.

Yes please do not handle and transform Getsuei the way PvP did in his video.

An unpopular opinion: Headmasters is by far my favorite of the 2D Transformers shows, due to reasons outlined here. The japanese version obviously.
