Ugh, those hollow forearms on Cosmos and Skullgrin are pathetic. They should both come with stickers that read "cheap" and "cop-out". It is so simple to avoid this with a couple extra pieces of plastic and pins. This is lazy and chintzy design.

    Shame on you Hasbro!

Can we use those stickers to cover your eyes so we don’t have to hear you whine about something that’s already been discussed ad nauseam? Hasbro wants you to know that they’re terribly sorry their mass market toys aren’t up to your MP standards. They’ll take some Adderall and try to do better.

Cosmos is a pretty chunky little guy in hand. The hollowness is due to transformation.

Read too far into the size comparison with galaxy upgrade Optimus. For a second I thought that meant we were gonna get a reissue of him.

Skullgrin's hollow forearms are well hidden.
Cosmos's not so much -but he is still a fantastic figure.

When the hands are hidden inside the forearms during the transformation there is always a gap in that forearm during robot mode when at the deluxe price point -at least as far as I'm aware.
There is so much crying about the gaps these days.
Is it just the complaint of choice or is it it due to the movie figures having a fully formed arm hidden inside a car shell?

I still remember how much the fandom loved that BW Silverbolt had little bones molded inside his hollow areas. I supposed we had a run with more toys than usual that have limbs fully closed off, to where we seem to have collectively forgotten that it’s not the norm, beyond Masterpiece. The movie toys don’t help, since their complex shapes allowed for “hollows” to be hidden as part of the design, often. On some toys it does feel unfortunately, but it rarely matters much when playing with them.

What did disappoint me about Cosmos is the way he has no sculpted detail on interior and other hidden surfaces. I used to call that out as one of the differentiating features of official versus third party product, but it’s nowhere to be found on our tubby little space buddy. I hope it’s just due to the particularly nature of the Wal-Mart exclusive original molds, rather than a sign of things to come…

If anyone really wants Cosmos there's still some stock here in the UK but it is starting to run out now.
With the pound absolutely smashed into the toilet at the moment you can buy him for about $29 (at time of writing) plus shipping.
PM me if you're interested. :)

:lol  the yen is the same... since it's 1/144 to the dollar (shout out to Gundam models) right now, buyers outside of Japan can probably buy this even at Takara's scalper prices with shipping and probably still get a decent deal... probably under $40US total

Tbh I can’t find myself caring all too much about the hollowness of Cosmos seeing as he was initially a Origins Bee retool that Takara managed to get a new mold for within the retool budget.
