    What a Menace(sor) to society.
I kind of do hope that next year's Prowl being the TFA version ends up real. Because you know it's not gonna look like it walked off Wyatt's drawing board and I want to see that reaction.

Was hoping for some IGN previews today, instead got a gladiator tournament. It's not that I don't think the Breakdown is a little lame (though now looking at it I think I like it better than Wildrider), but there's a lot of stuff there to keep track of. One thing that seems super absurd was the HasLab thing... I better not ever see a combiner HasLab. Some of us have favorites from the cartoon that we want to be able to afford. Then there's calling Legacy or even WFC overall bad lines, which I get is subjective, but... there's a few lemons every line and people seem to have selective memories about hollowness going on over there.

Just wait until Prime Skyquake gets revealed and the G1-ifying isn't toned down since it was already fully designed by the time Hasbro made that comment about toning it down for future figures. It is going to be FUN

eh, I'm not really put off by the hood shape, but i do have to question that IF they were going to retool something, why the back end and not the hood? the mold has that T section to the hood-pack... it having a different "lip" would have been all that was needed, yeah? Meh, I'm still getting him, and am in no way hurt (or omg "betrayed" ) by this result.

Oh I'm personally already aware of that, which is why I'm not excited for that figure at all.

Unless it's just the actual G1 Skyquake and they're just saying it's a version of the Prime character because reasons in which case take my money hasbro

I've had the Takara Legends Powered Masters out on my desk for a week or so. I still enjoy the set all these years later, though honestly most of that enjoyment is sparked by my own imagination and not by the actual Takara LG-EX figures.

Prime Wars had some great toys, but the Powered Masters did not necessarily benefit from being retools of Prime Wars era toys. Sonic Bomber has odds and ends that don't tab securely or at all. Roadfire falls apart at the waist when posing him and his accessories are clunky. Big D is wibbly-wobbly, has those calves, and I hate that mold anyway. The headmaster gimmick is fun on these guys in particular, adding to their play value. I *do* enjoy the set despite it's flaws, but it needed a little more budget to get some finer details right.

I 100% support a set of new Powered Masters. And Battlestars.

Sheesh - that's what I'd ask for the next Haslab: Battlestars Sky Garry, Grandus, and Sixliner in one big set, scaled to fit Star Saber and Generations. Tiers to add accessories. More ramps, cargo bays, battle effects, weapons, micromasters.

Star Convoy could be that year's Titan class figure, because a Prime can be in retail, and he'll need a Titan budget to get that trailer done right.

Was more about the "on the verge of death threats" comment, but tbh I don't really think suggesting a Haslab combiner is really that ridiculous. Pretty sure that was suggested a lot for more obscure combiners, so now it's suddenly bad?

People calling for HasLabs, people using the word "swindle" (even though you can see the toy you're buying and watch reviews so there's no deceit going on), people saying others are having "breakdowns," claims of Hasbro being dishonest as if they've ever recently revealed toys three waves apart at the same time, general selective memory about previous lines and this one, etc.

It’s especially funny because I’ve seen more insults directed at people disappointed in the figure than vice versa.

Haslabs are being suggested as an avenue to pay for the costs of the molds, it's also a more up front avenue for a combiner that wouldn't leave you in the dark on how the individual bots look up until you're already part way through collecting the components, leading to this so called "breakdown".

More transparency seems like a win to me?

Though the "breakdowns" you're referring to mainly seem to be people fed up from assholes telling them to shut up all the time and be happy with a product they want to buy. Is that not ridiculous it even has to get to that point? Don't pretend like this is a new thing either, this is such a common occurrence on this website of people just being outright shitty to each-other over toys. For God sake, the earliest case that started this in that thread is someone acting that way to a moderator.

I don't personally think we'll ever see a combiner who appeared in the G1 cartoon being a HasLab.

I think when people ever suggest a Combiner Haslab, it's the ones who are from the late-G1/Japanese shows era.

I don't either, but I can understand where they're coming from. A haslab would mean having the combiner mapped out from the get go instead of needing to fit it into budgetary constraints on a wave by wave basis. You're paying to realize an idea, so you'd have to be shown the full idea first as well, thus also preventing buyers remorse if the product doesn't turn out to look the way you'd wanted it to, since you're seeing the full picture from the very start, which is a much fairer way of committing to these large scale things.

Dude, I'm saying that it's a bad thing to be accusing others of having breakdowns over simple opinions expressed in ways that aren't overblown. Don't know how you got that I thought it was okay, when I was saying the accusations are an example of the shittiness of the thread. HasLabs would rob tons of people of being able to afford their favorite combiners for no good reason and sets a precedent to just lock a bunch of cartoon mains behind a HasLab wall. It's not like you can't sell whatever combiner members you get or simply hold out because as it is Dragstrip is still available, Wildrider isn't even in saturation yet, Dead End has been revealed and Breakdown has just been leaked and is getting revealed very soon. These people act like they've been lied to when Hasbro never said they weren't going to do remolds and they would have all the information they need before buying Breakdown.
