Thanks heavens for Toyhax after SS86 Coronation Starscream dropped at too nice a discount to pass up, their G2 set gave ER Screamer a purpose BUT just the sticker decals were not enough for me - a more thorough job was called for. This more thorough job was a little held up as I tried to figure out what the best colour for his torso was as some shots it seems a tad orangey, and sometimes a lighter red, the colour in some shots reminded me of the shade of some High Vis jackets, after some mulling over I realised my best choice was salmon pink, which I also luckily had to hand from tweaking POTP Elita-1!

With his ghostly glowing reddish torso and the two tone in greys being very "Dead TF"-like he really struck me as potentially a 'Screamer-turned-undead post getting his body back via Unicron, a revenant "Count Screamula"!
Perhaps he now need regular ingestion of innermost energon to keep his un-life going, a curse shared & passed on by his chaos-bringing once would-be Master that he must now consume life to exist?

Also it was the 90's so massive cannons ahoy!

    DSC_0175.jpeg DSC_0176.jpeg

I did have a couple of niggles with some what I would consider omissions in the sticker designs, such as the Warning Arrow & Triangle missing from his nametag decals, so a little home DTP'ing was called for.

I'm not sure if this is correct but the G2 'Screamer in Seibertron's Toy Gallery had underside wing Deceptibrands so I followed suit and added them myself.
    DSC_0184.jpeg DSC_0185.jpeg

My minor aesthetic divergence in Bot Mode was the caution signs and Arrows at his abs, I went for a more faithful (IMO) G2 aesthetic with them. Also subbed the smaller intake/vent stickers by painting the appropriate moulded detailing instead of stickering on/around them.
Gold eyes of course for the "Toy Sticker Eyes" look.
    DSC_0186.jpeg

I also re-did the G2 "Tampograph" decal myself as the white backing on the original decal from the set was ever so slightly misaligned and so peeked out at some edges of the purple, which undid the Tampograph illusion for me.

Unfortunately there was further fallout from having a G2 Air Commander - I now needed some G2 Seekers to be commanded -m so much for saving on spends!!!

I expect the announcement of a Selects Series G2 'Screamer with mini-tank/SFX sound box aaaaany minute now! :p

This is fantastic. I'm going to do this. Do you have a list of paints? How did you get the pins out?

I didn't de-pin at all, I used time instead of disassembly and carefully brush painted around the exposed surfaces in situ in phases, cleaning up any overspill, and keeping the coat/s as thin as possible where I thought wear could be likely (such as the fist transformation hinge) - though I did pop off the side tailfins for an easier time there the ankle joint and the vertical fins' rotation was enough to eventually get around there. Likewise the explodo-transformation of the forearms was enough to open them up to gradually work my way around their exteriors (I haven't painted any unexposed in robot mode parts of the inner forearm, though I did abrade the forearm ports so that they would be a little looser to prevent wearing the paint applied to their rims). I also popped off his wundapants for the repainting Salmon Pink.

Paints used are all Mr.Hobby Aqueous Hobby Color:
    Salmon Pink
Neutral Grey (I was going to go Field Grey (2) which is darker but Neutral turned out to be a deep enough contrast on a test)
Silver and Clear Yellow (mixed by eye to paint the eyes, Mr. Hobby AHC Gold is rather brassy, and not as yellow as I wanted)
Gray FS16440 (used to blend/fill the breaks in the lighter sections of the Arctic Camo at the misection hinges of the wings, where try as I might aligning the stickers correctly always left a bit of exposed original plastic peeking out)
Clear Blue & Clear Red (mixed to make a purple to experiment if that would work over the orange plastic, it's turned out to have an odd but decent "clear cola brown" effect that weirdly still has a certain hint of purple-ish when light catches it sometimes, the final result looks enough like solarized sunglasses lenses that it fits with the Arctic Camo thematically IMO, even if it isn'r "G2 -accurate")

Barring the silver on the torso which is Mr. Metal Colour Aluminium with an Aqueous Hobby Color Clear topcoat.

Painting was of course done and cured before application of the stickers.

Kinda surprised they didn't jump on this given all the Seeker molds, fantastic work.

Absolutely gorgeous. This is the superior colorscheme for Starscream and you nailed it.

Excellent work! The paint is factory-level clean and the colors are just the perfect shades.

Noice! Looks amazing! My only complaint is no purple window chest but that's just me.

I contemplated swapping canopies with Ramjet but the rear section seemed a rather more daunting prospect than the easily popped small front section. I wasn't confident of being able to do it without damaging one or both, so solarized will do me!

Phenomenal paint work. I still can't believe they haven't made an official one. My only niggle is the use of G1 symbols. I know its toy accurate, but that was just typical Hasbro laziness back in the day. I would have loved to see true metallic G2 stickers issued back then.

I love the grays! If I end up doing this, the torso is going to be more dark metallic maroon red (like the G2 minibot hubcap had). You did a super crisp job on this, and should be proud.

He's somewhat transitional as I do prefer the G1 badges myself but as well as the "Tampo" he does have a G2 badge on one tailfin.
