Why is Blaster strangely feminine in cover B? Did the artists have no idea who the character was?

It's a stylistic choice. I'd argue that it's less about looking 'strangely feminine' and more about not looking typically masculine.

 

I already have this. It came with my Shattered Glass Blaster toy that I got from Pulse.

 

Given Blaster's characterization/career choices in the issue, it kind of fits since it looks like could be an album cover.

I can see him looking feminine to some.
He's got a snatched waist and his chest juts out a little bit far.

 

Since so many of you have the issue already, will one of you be kind enough to actually post a summary behind some spoiler tags?

Blaster's sent on a mission by Rodimus and Slicer to destroy Soundwave's Decepticon radio channel in New Kaon (Gold City from the previous series). Rodimus in particular really doesn't like Blaster.

While infiltrating, he shows off some abilities like sonic frequencies that can increase aggression/irritation and voice mimicry. Megs and Jetfire are shown arguing about something in regards to Flamewar and Starscream.

While hacking Decepticon radio HQ, he gets into a fight with Soundwave where it becomes pretty clear he's got huge one-sided rivalry with Soundwave. Now that he's exposed, Slicer orders him to get out of there before he's killed or captured.

When he meets up with Rodimus and Slicer on the outskirts of the city, he said he was successful in hacking Decepticon Radio but not in destroying whatever information they had in storage. Rodimus deems this a failure and proceeds to kill Blaster (he already killed his cassette minions off page).

Before he dies we get a flashback to his life pre-war where he was a hammy news anchor who got fired when he called his audience idiots while the camera was still on and then became a fake news alternative media conspiracy theorist.

 

Man Rodimus is one bloodthirsty SOB isn’t he? I would be pretty shocked if he wasn’t one of the shattered glass figures.

 

So, I thought IDW was done with TF (or, the other way around). I don’t really do comics or shattered glass… am I missing something?

 

These are pack in comics. They’re different. They’re the final Transformers comics that IDW are doing for Hasbro.

 

I would be surprised if he's not in a hypothetical wave 3.

License expires at the end of the year and the last issues of these come out in December.

 

I get the feeling this line lasts beyond the comic. Especially since they're sneaking Slicer and Flamewar in.

 

It's possible. They may have held off on Rodimus so they have could have an A-lister to put in a wave 3.

 

If this ends without an SG Titan I'll be shocked. Because I think that's what this is building towards.
