My bird has landed! Looking forward to transforming him. I learned from Kinglion how overly tight the joints of these figures are so I'm waiting till this weekend.

 

Just make sure to have the shock oil in hand and ready, especially for that combiner peg for Firmament. But don't use it on the wings unless you want to have a bird with floppy, loose wings..

 

Oh definitely agree with you the shock oil is necessary. Might even have to loosen some screws- if I can find them, that is. There are hardly any visible.

WD-40 makes a fairly effective degreaser that should be safe for paint and plastic. You might be able to get most of that shock oil out using WD-40 DG as a solvent, and soak it up with paper towels.

 

WD-40 is a big no no and for the very fact that from what I saw in a thread dealing with using that will destroy the plastic. So, you're basically doing more harm than good using that stuff. That's why a lot of collectors use shock oil to prevent such disasters from happening. Even I use shock oil for that very reason..

 

Not WD-40 penetrant. WD-40-brand Degreaser. They are completely different solvents.
