I bought the IDW version of D-Zef, because the head sculpt is gorgeous and I wanted to leave room for Hasbro as my official G1 version.

I'm waiting it out for an official version, mostly because it would burn less of a hole in the money I have. Both mmc and planet x Deathsaurus look badass

I've got Ismenios, and he'll do fine. Even if Hasbro gets to him, he'll be that more cut by budget and probably won't satisfy in comparison.

I’m all for good, official toys but if Hasbro/Takara won’t make an official or the official is shit, they’re kinda forcing 3rd party on us that want complete collections. I’m not slapping a Legacy Galvatron or Kingdom Cyclonus in my MP collection. Hasbro doesn’t go after MP or Legends scale 3P because they’re not really in competition. If 3P started pumping out CHUG scale lines, then there would be a fight.

That one company riding coattails during the Haslab Unicron campaign was bullshit and deserved to be gone after though.

Ive had Ismenios since release, have the G1 style D-Zef on preorder and will pick up an official version if it’s a proper update this time. I’ll get the X Transbots version too if that isn’t scuffed as hell.

This isn’t a character like Bumblebee who gets a new toy every 8 minutes, I’ll pick up whatever versions of Deathsaurus come out.

Already have Planet X. Nice figure.

Aw, don't bring that crap here. Plenty of other "I hate 3rd party" threads. Some of us like it, no one's forcing it down your throat, so extend the same courtesy.

CHUG was a 3rd party target for years, they did nothing about it. The legal costs aren't worth it.

Nah. It's an awesome figure and very well made. I'm very happy with it.

Not sure, honestly I kinda wanna wait for a Hasbro version but I don’t think they will do a IDW retooled version. So I would maybe get PX’s since I like the dragon mode better that MMC’s.

Buddy, no one cares about your opinion. Without 3rd party, how would I ever build up a shelf of over twenty something obscure seeker repaints?

A part of me wants to wait and see if we'll get an official one, but at the same time my senses are telling me that we're either getting Armada Prime, or someone no one expected. I just think it's weird that they'll do a tribute to Armada without even giving people an update of the show's main character (could be wrong, never seen Armada, but I assume he is as he's Optimus Prime). So most likely I'll invest in a 3P figure for now like I did Liokaiser.

I was always split on which one looked better. I wish I got to see a comparison of D-Zef C with a G1 Planet X Ismenios. Tho my current conclusion after a good amount of looking at screenshots of comic panels and my knowledge from watching Victory is that if you want an IDW Deathsaurus you get the planet x. From the screenshots I saw it looked like proportions of the planet x matched the IDW design quite well, also the beast mode looks more like the IDW design. Also the wings look to be spot on to IDW. Tho maybe it'd be more on the money if it had the head sculpt from the MMC figure. Then again I might not be the best to judge IDW accuracy,

If you want a G1 Deathsaurus you get MMC. While the proportions don't line up that well with the anime design, I found that they actually line up quite well with the proportions of the G1 toy. Also that head sculpt looks way nicer than the planet x's imo. Obviously the beast mode is pretty much spot on to the Victory design. It also has the accurate parts forming tail shield, and has the proper Breast Animal gimmick (ik planet x has it too, but if you get the g1 kit you can't store both animals on his chest like on MMC).

Again that's just my opinion, and for all I know I could change my mind again. But that's how I'm feeling rn. Either way I've heard that they're both great figures, but I suppose that's what makes it harder to decide. Also, thanks for bringing this up as this was a discussion I actually wanted to have at some point.

That's pretty much my mentality for collect 3P now. If its a character that has little to no chance of getting a new figure by Hasbro, then I'll likely pick up a 3P rendition of them. I did this with Liokaiser, Pyro, and Ironfist.

The one sort of exception to that rule was Roadbuster, as the T30 was such a disappointing figure imo that I bought the MMC figure as it not only felt more solid, more fun to handle, it also better resembled what I wanted in a Roabuster, an update on the Dorvack design (which is something Hasbro won't ever do). Ik its based off IDW, but with the G1 head it and colors it looks more like a modern update of the original G1 toy imo.

On and off as to whether or not I should get Thunder Manus, as I feel that it scales better with Overlord, but at the same time I can see Hasbro making a new PMOP/God Ginrai in the next few years so I might just wait for that instead.

I've got both MMC versions of Deszaras coming in. I've ordered TFC Hades (Liokaiser's scale be damned here). I've ordered FPJ Saurus Ryu-OH, five of the shells and am trying to chase down Goryu's Tyrannosaurus shell.

    In short, yes.

Looking at other Haslabs, I just want to say how appreciative I am of Victory Saber. We get a cool looking nesting doll of a Japanese super robot that combines with his armed to the saber teeth lion robot best friend, to make an even bigger super robot, all for around $200. Not to rag on the ML Ghost Rider one, but I feel we are getting a much more fun, playable experience, at a way better price. Just my opinion though.

I've got the MMC G1 version coming. At a higher price point and for a major character I am willing to pay more for something that won't need to fit size class budgets. Like with Overlord...MMCs is so far superior that it's worth several times as much for me to have one that looks spot on.

I very much considered MMC's offering, but in the end I decided against it. I was only going to get it to put with HasLab VS, but that's not going in my main display due to scale. I can wait for an official for that. XTB Zeusaurus will be my main Deathsaurus once he releases.
The triceratops was the one I ended up having to chase down. Ended up importing one from Kapow. Shipping cost as much as the shell. I got lucky with the tyrannosaurus from transformerland. Just keep watching eBay and hope something comes up.

Has it been mentioned or confirmed quantity of units in the damaged Taiwan shipment?

Despite everything in this thread, at least VS wasn't a huge cash grab / fan-hate disaster like the Ghost Rider car, the light saber, & the Rancor was...

Agreed, the set had a reasonable price especially with all the bonus tiers unlocked

Wait the Ghost Rider is getting hate? From what I'm seeing, it looks like he's on track to getting funded. Or at the very least it doesn't look like its going to be a total flop like the lightsaber

Then again I don't really pay that much attention to the non transformer haslabs

All of these crowd funding projects are projects to grab the crowd's cash! What matters is if there is a "demand" for said product. The Hiss tank for instance. Then Jabba's Sail barge, the Mandalorian's Razor Crest and Unicron. There is a demand to grab our cash.:lolol  The other's you mentioned especially that certain lightsaber(you all know why as in no one was invested in the wielder), Rancor (poorly designed half assed) and the GS sedan (people know GS as a biker regardless of how he was recently portrayed in cable, but still up in the air).

It still boggles my mind that Hasbro doesn’t actually update the HasLab page for products. Adding Mephisto as a stretch goal is huge for that fan base, but you’d never know he’s an option if you visited the HasLab page.
