Evan said a new one could be based on the one we saw in 2019 or be brand new so they definitely have something from that they can use.

it can feel kind of hard to assume you're operating in good faith when, for example, you see a Hasbro designer making a post that is pretty obviously about his excitement regarding making new toys of characters he seems to hold dearly, and your read on the situation is "it seems like he doesn't care and just wants to get them out of the way". like that feels like an actually very weird read of the post you'd have to go out of your way to come to, to me.

Yeah, especially since it was too expensive to do at retail at that point (presumably due to being in that phase pre-voyager+ they didn't think they could put him at commander or titan reasonably) it's pretty clear they had something done, even if that prototype model itself couldn't transform, they had to have some design work done to know it wouldn't work out with their model then.

my guess is that he meant that a trailer was never made so a fully combined mode never existed. anyone can can see in the images that the figure has the tabs and hinges neccesary to pull off a similar transformation to the orginal toy

 

Insecticons -> Deluxe Insecticons makes a lot more sense than some of the retools I've seen suggested in this very thread.

 

Well I hold those characters dearly as well. I just took away something different from it. Like I said, I realize that they're working within the budget and the designers are probably doing all they can with it for those characters, but from someone looking at it from the outside, what I said is exactly what it feels like.

If you don't think that's in good faith... that's fair, I guess? But I'm honestly not sure what you want *me* to do when you come at me with misunderstandings about my posts. If I offended you, I'll happily apologize. But I'm a paranoid person and can't tell if I'm being gaslighted, so even if you don't think I'm personally acting in good faith and think I'm being unfair to someone, I'd still appreciate you asking instead of accusing first. I know I say things a bit more passionately than the average fan around here, but if it's coming off as offensive, I do want you to let me know about it. Cool! Barrage & Chop Shop from Bombshell & Shrapnel makes sense to me. Of course new molds would be nice, but I can see the reasoning for using the Insecticon molds. Here's hoping they get a bit of retooling aside from new head sculpts, just to give the alt modes a bit more personality.

It would be nice if they gave Venom his own mold though...

I had this exact same issue. Got the email for the confirming order and that was it. I checked to see if I was charged for it and I was. It's weird though. I'm still slightly worried about the possibility that VS might now show up. I'll be really mad if it doesn't since I was charged.
