Has anyone painted the grey hip/waist pieces black to match the crotch?

 

I skipped out on Laser Optimus, so this Scourge is my first experience with the mold.

Oh boy, in-hand the deco/Scourge accuracy became the least of my worries/a non-issue, lol!

The shoulders kind of sucks, the elbows are pretty much useless when you put an accessory in his hand, and the trailer is just plain sad.

If we get a Toxitron out of this mold I will still buy it though. Begrudgingly, lol.

7 out of 10. Ok recommend if you are a fan and can look past the shortcomings.  

 

Any good paints to use on the pink shoulder parts ?

 

Just got this guy today and I really like him.

My complaints so far are that his upper arms are a little skinny and that the truck front should move with the shoulder also the obvious even though it didn’t bug me a lot I wish he was the accurate deco.

While the trailer isn’t great, I could care less about the trailer, they always go in a bin or box.

But other than that I like the figure.

This guy is so tempting--almost pulled the trigger this weekend--but I'm gonna try and hold out for a Toxitron repaint (don't really need more than one of this mold). I hope that's a possibility...

 

I wasn't gonna get him but forgot to cancel my walmart preorder before it shipped. In hand, I don't regret getting him.

I know I've been waiting for these!

 

I've been waiting for the ToyHax labels too, and I'm actually impressed by how much they annoy me. The huge sticker set is $35, so you'd be not far from doubling the toy's price to improve its looks. It has a ton of labels to slather all over the inside and outside of the trailer, (why not offer separate sheets for trailer and robot/cab?) and does little to address the actual color differences between Legacy Scourge and the RID toy it tries to emulate. It doesn't address the base color of the chest panel or translucent shoulder pauldrons (it may not be practical to do that with stickers, but the cheapo Chinese sticker set on Ebay at least TRIES) and adds nothing to the hip sections at all, which seemed like it should be obvious to me.

That's not to say it doesn't have nice things either. The metallic foil of the stickers looks good, and offers a nice faux chrome appearance to the trailer. I like the available options for the chest windows , shoulder panels, and vehicle markings, such as Commando (flipped G2 Autobot), standard and G2 Decepticon symbols.

When I saw the Chinese stickers on Ebay, I waited to see what Toyhax would do, thinking they could do better. They definitely did different, though I wouldn't necessarily say they did better, depending on what you're looking for. Much like the Legacy Scourge toy itself, it feels like the deco priorities are a bit out of whack.

A while back Toyhax said no more discounts, and instead they do a rewards program call Robotcents.

 

Just picked him up at my local walmart tonight and immediatwly ordered the sticker set floating around ebay. He needs the greys and whites on his chest. Also super stoked i downloaded the 3d printable parts for his knees for accuracy and shoulders for better arm movement. Gonna be printing those out in the next couple days

I'm waiting on the MSS Studio sticker sheets (don't feel like decking out the trailer, so this is WAY less pricey) and may do a few more touch-ups to the colors. I started working on the gunmetal gray RID Scourge color scheme, but gained some appreciation for the heavier contrast of the black, so I decided to lean into that for a version with a more 'Destructicon Scourge' vibe. I'll be back once the stickers arrive and are installed.

So, flipped G2-bots or Decepticon sigils?
